Hope this is just a replacement for Charsley and doesn’t mean we have a midfielder going out.

Aikins and Wallace are Charsley's replacements. They cover his two positions.

When has Charsley played left back? Thats me thinking Wallace is a left back no?

He said in his interview he was a midfielder who can cover left back

Gordon said he was a winger/wing back. These players don't know what position they play best in. Apparently.

You know best apparently... still a disaster having a winger at left back isn't it?

Jamie Murphy?

Clough had him at Sheffield United as well for 2 years. 95 games, 17 goals from out wide

Just seen an account with 65k followers has tweeted it’s a possibility

Would be a cracking signing, we don't play with wingers though..

In the Scottish express now, seems to be some truth in it

Harrison Biggins rumour seems to be a transfer not a loan.

He’d clearly be amazing at this level however would be a weird one for us, we’d have to ditch the midfield four for a 433?

Murphy would be a TRULY incredible signing.

He'd bring a dimension to either the left side or through the middle as an out and out striker that League 2 defenders couldn't live with.

If he comes, we are going up.

That would give us proper flexibility in attack. Bowery, Oates, Murphy and Akins could all play anywhere across the front line, with Hawkins and DJ as central options.

I still suspect DJ might go though

Never said it was a disaster having a winger at left back, would you like to point out where I did, you seem to remember it well). I had my reservations, as did others. Maybe it was one of those that said it'd be a disaster.

Looked like a great spell he had at Burton 2 seasons back, however seems to have had a lot of injuries for the past 18 months.

Gordan, stats wise he did play a lot of games in defence, especially youth footie.. but he clearly fancies him self further up the pitch so he would say hes a winger wouldn't he

only joking about Macca haha  just love the commitment to players only having one position

I reckon I could've got a goal and assist against us last season at that time, we were that bad

Ah I see. Fair enough.

Not so much as only one position just one position they are best at.

Thinking about Nigels comment of everything would need to fall into place.

I think we'd need to let Johnson go before bringing Murphy in and I for one would be comfortable with that swap.

Murphy would be one of the best players to pull on a Stags shirt this century. He's THAT good.

If we sign Murphy it will be one of the biggest signings we've ever made. Hope there's truth in it and we can get it over the line.
