Guiseley 3 Blyth Spartans 1

James Gale scores two goals for Guiseley and is involved in the build up for the third goal.

Owen Mason makes 3/4 good saves but probably should have saved Robbie Dale's free kick.

Leamington 1-0 Guiseley: Kelly-Evans strike enough for Leamington to tame The Lions.

“The biggest chance of the half saw The Brakes be clinical when it mattered the most, taking the lead on 62 minutes thanks to Devon Kelly-Evans, who after taking the ball in the box, powered it past a hopeless Owen Mason in the Guiseley goal.”

hopeless or helpless? A big difference.

It took 15 minutes for the first real chance when a long throw fell to the feet of Kelly Evans who made no mistake from 8 yards out and beat Mason with a powerful drive to open the scoring.

The final action fell to the hosts when Mason made an excellent double save to deny Kelly Evans from getting his second of the afternoon.

Doesn't sound like a keeper error for the goal.

A 0-0 draw between Guiseley and AFC Telford from 22nd March.

Ryan Burke brings James Gale down for a soft penalty. Owen Mason makes a few strange goalkeeping decisions. Keaton Ward sets up a decent chance for Telford.

Russ O'Neill praises James Gale (12m 23s)

"He got involved in an arm wrestle and a fist fight. He won't be used to that at the level he's been playing at. I thought he was excellent today. When I say excellent I don't mean quality all through the pitch but he's fought for every ball. He's strong with his back to goal. He's getting us fouls. He's running in behind. He's clearing headers out of our box. He's competing for balls in the air. He just needs to do what Paul Clayton used to do and nick a goal late on. If he can do that then he can go on to do well for himself."

Guiseley put management team on gardening leave.

"The board of directors have made the difficult decision to place Russ O’Neill, Marcus Bignot and Paul Clayton on gardening leave for the remainder of the season. Former boss Steve Kittrick will take charge of our seven remaining fixtures this campaign."

Was at the Kettering game last night where Owen, James and George had decent games. The style of football played though was way behind League 2 hopefully this was because of the poor surface.

Agreed both in getting a hand to it and in having the strength to palm it onto the bar.
A very run from Gale just after his goal which the other striker should have made the game safe from

Owen Mason and Guiseley lost 6-0 at home to Gateshead and then drew 0-0 away at Bradford Park Avenue. James Gales was not in the squad for these games.

Guiseley are bottom of National League North, three points behind AFC Telford.

Mason appears to be heading for league football, Gale could be good business but not a prospect although watching the videos he does appear to have a bit of talent
