Clearly it is as Evans didn’t spend as much as other managers and still did better than them and has been employed ever since (bar a few weeks)
I find that hard to believe ( perhaps you have the figures ) considering the high wage crocks he signed and left us with. Evans is known for his high spending ask any Rotherham fan.
As for JJ O'Toole, he is about as good as you can get in relation to players who have been literally cast aside. I think he may add a bit of grit to the side.

Evans started the spending spree, but mostly it was on agents fees and transfer fees and on top of that... healthy bonuses to players. Wages weren't as insane as under Flitcroft.
But its all added up. Evans is doing reasonably well now without a massive budget. We've tried to spend little but looks like a busy January ahead.
I think a director of football role will be his somewhere one day

Lots of players marked for the exit door in January

Like Craig Davies you mean? Also Tippy has posted the figures on here which back me up so believe what you want.

I think £5,000 a week for any player in league Two is pretty insane.

I admit absolutely the utter stupidity and crassness of the statement.
I have made a massive humble pie and anyone who want a slice is welcome.
C'mon now be honest, who thought a player with a poor disciplinary record and untouched by everyone since his release by Burton would turn out to be such an integral part of us turning this season from a relegation battle to arguably a top 3 finish within two months?

I'm not sure even Clough could of predicted the impact he made, if he would of thought any more of him at the time he would of offered a longer contract.
I'll take a slice of the pie, even though I didn't comment on here I wasn't that overwhelmed by his signing at the time but you could see he had something about him straight away.

You could. The first view of him as a Stag for me was the Papa v Newcastle when he scored. I was at Stevenage a few days later and began choking on Humble pie as he score again.
Wow I thought I hope part time pete doesn't highlight my silly sod post from earlier in this thread, what numpty I'll look

Surprisingly positive for Stagsnet.

Players are judged without even a ball being kicked for the stags. I agree with the poor disciplinary record bit but he's had good spells at other clubs before like Northampton where he scored quite a few for a midfielder. As we all know with signings, good players can turn poor and vice versa.
