RIP Steve Wilson

Postby chris wilson » Thu Oct 21, 2021 6:50 pm

Sadly, I wish to let everyone know that my Dad Steve Wilson lost his battle to cancer on Tuesday afternoon aged 64. Ironic that we equalised in the 64th minute on Tuesday.

Dad was a season ticket holder for over 50 years and didn't miss many away games until becoming ill. A Ladybrook lad, he grew up in the North Stand before moving to his current seat which is in the Lower West.

Dad was at his happiest when he was at the mill and will have one final visit on the day of his funeral.

How could you not be sorry to hear such news, we’re all a family here and he will be missed, i hope that you’ll make contact with the club to make them aware so a fitting tribute can be paid at home to tranmere a week saturday.

If Steve is the guy I am thinking of he sat on the row in front of us and just to our left. Nice guy and very witty. Remember him once bringing in a tub of Quality Street to a post xmas game and passing them round, saying they had far too many to get through at home !!

Condolences to your family. RIP Steve.

With Chris and I both living in Derby, he use to give me lifts to many a home and away game. He was a top bloke and loved the stags.

He will be sadly missed.

RIP Steve.

Was my football coach as a young lad at Cumberland Colts.
Infact the first ever game I played, he brought me on as a sub for the team the year older, think I was about 8 playing in the under 9s, I scored what in my head I still think was a worldy and I remember him coming over to my parents at the end and telling them I knew where the onion bag was.

Top bloke. RIP
