Didn’t realise he is still is only 25 years old
Can remember him bursting onto the scene around 2014/15 for last 12 games and being M.O.M for most of them
What caused his decline was it a injury or loss of form as he hasn’t played
really that much since apart from Basford

I'm sure he was being scouted by Sheff Wed and Wolves at the time too. It's a shame he didn't kick on

Steve Evans wasn't it. Didn't fancy him and didn't play him, didn't he send him on loan?

I think had he been in a good side and bulked up he would have gone further

Didn’t he play against county on Saturday for Tamworth?

Some theory's were that he looked good compared to what we had at the time and once Evans came in and signed a higher calibre midfielder he fell down the pecking order.

I did like Evans comments about the midfield he signed that Jan, "one lad can play, and the other can really play" Byrom and Ben whitemen really did turn things around for the last games of that season

Would kill for another Ben Whiteman to come in January, chances are slim though! He was a great player for us

I did an interview with Jack a few years ago where he talked all about his time at Mansfield with Murray/Evans etc. for anyone interested.

I think Evans did know a good player or two and goes along with what others say about him being utterly obsessed with the game.

He did and he's playing in the replay tomorrow night as well, along with Martin Riley and Henri Wilder. All three had a really good game on Saturday. Wouldn't be surprised to see them get something tomorrow night.

Jack is currently coaching at Mansfield and is obviously proving his critics wrong. He had a storming game on Saturday, (Star Man in Non League Paper), and I think he will smash it tomorrow night. If only our current midfield had his impact we would not be in the position we’re in. Make that step up Jack, you are good enough, show ‘em tomorrow night! BR

I still struggle to understand why he didn't make it with us. Possibly wrong manager at the wrong time.

Playing for Tamworth at 25 is evidence that all the Football League Clubs think he's not quite good enough.

Have I got the wrong player in thinking about an incident at the cockle regarding drink and fighting?

Playing at a decent level like Tamworth is not to be sniffed at.

He's a really nice bloke to be fair, not one of these big time Charlies you see swanning around in the lower leagues after playing professionally.
