This might be our biggest away following of the season so far.
Looking at the SAFC website and the tickets received it looks like we are high behind the goal in the North Stand.
I wonder how many they will sell. They are playing poorly but the reduced price is decent.

Is that 800 sold or remaining ?

800(ish) sold. Club said there were 3000 and now total showing as remaining is just below 2200.

It'll be interesting to see the attendance on Saturday and how many follow Stags.

Remember seeing Stags play at Newcastle Utd in the FA Cup with a crowd over over 41,000 including 5,500 Stags.

Stags were in the exact same league position, 20th in League 2.

We played really well and deserved a replay, great ground but we were miles away from the pitch. We won't get anywhere near 5,500 for Sunderland, it's nowhere near as big an occasion.

1300 at most had we’d been near the top end of the table like most fans expected Maybe that figure would be in the region of 3500 .

That was the 3rd round of the FA cup though, it's where all the clubs want to be.
Was a great day out though, I couldn't make those stairs now though.

Was a great day. Almost enjoyed watching Shearer equal Jackie Milburn’s record. Late goal was gutting though. We could have beaten them

I remember going to Roker Park in the late 80's to see Sunderland v Stags in an old Division 3 league game.

It was a rare occasion of going to an away game by supporters bus rather than in the car, an August Bank Holiday night match.

Stags went 1-0 up in the 1st half, Ian Stringfellow (I think), but went on to lose 1-4.

I was at this game and remember the oil rig just behind the ground

After we scored I can remember looking around to a few hundred fellow stags, then looking at their fans and thinking

I hope we lose this because I don’t fancy getting home alive if we win

I think we lost by the same score line at field mill

They were the days

And to top it off my maths teacher was a mad Sunderland, good old wiggy Brettles

A mate and I went to that game, he'd just learnt to drive and we stopped off for a few hours in Scarborough en route. We got stuck in traffic from Scarborough as it was a bank holiday and so we were late getting to the ground. The turnstiles had shut so we were escorted in past all the Sunderland fans who were not impressed as we were winning, that didn't last! Was it 86 or 87?

Prior to the match, a copper came on the supporters bus and said "we'll be walking you to and from the ground, the buses cannot go any closer to the ground as the end of last season the bus windows kept getting smashed"

Police escort back to the bus after the match, police horses, dogs & vans, although we passed a pub and all the rokerites were in good spirits after their 4-1 win raising their pint glasses to us as we passed, had we won the pint pots would probably been raining down on us.

I think we lost 0-4 at Field Mill.

There was a scuffle in the away end after Stringy put Stags 1-0 up.

Perhaps there will be quite a few sales starting tomorrow since as I understand it this is the first day they go on general sale on the phone and at the office.
They weren't selling on Saturday at the ground, other than in Sandy's (I wasn't there but says on the website).

just to clarify, it was SSA coach tickets that were on sale in Sandy's on Saturday. No match tickets were on sale.

Yeah I think that's right that more will be sold tomorrow. It was general sale online from Friday, but hopefully many will go to the ground and pick them up this week. It would be great if we can take over 1500.

Simple facts whiffy lad. Had we looked anything like a team on a regular basis this season many more would've trapped, me included.

So you're going to bemoan the apathy of our fan base and in the same breath admit you aren't going because we aren't good enough. Right.

Nope. I can’t make it. I was in York this weekend gone and the road system in this country is such that I might murder someone if I have to drive more than five miles for a couple of weeks.

None of that defects from your constant, repetitive negativity. I’m not the one berating people for not going and then not going.

I suppose my negativity is on par with your constant antagonistic attitude to anyone who has a different opinion to you it seems.

Indeed. What he doesn’t realise that although I might disagree with people’s opinions, I’ll listen to them before coming back.
