It’s quite a suspense for them to appoint Phil Brown.

That is bizarre. Either money talks or he didn’t enjoy being a manager.

He's probably been offered a £1 million plus salary to be a coach at Villa. Money talks.

Nathan Arnold leaves Newark Town after winning the Central Midlands League (Step 7) beating Retford United by two points and becomes manager of Newark and Sherwood United FC (Step 5) (formerly Newark Flowserve FC who then become Newark FC). Jonathan D'Laryea has also joined as a player coach from AFC Mansfield. The club seems now to be run by Steff Wright who is a former Lincoln City director.

The club has moved back to Newark after playing at Basford United. They are now going to play at Collingham. Steff Wright has bought the stand from Flowserve and is moving it to Collingham. The length of the pitch has always been an issue at Collingham for Step 6 football and above but they have apparently bought some land off the council to extend the pitch.

Nothing bizarre about somebody taking up another job for a incredible pay rise.

Also not an unusual path for managers to take. The unusual part is the timing in that he has gone whilst in a job

Not many managers take a non managers job when in a managers job, no matter what the pay difference.

"Crawley Town is delighted to announce that Kevin Betsy has been appointed as the new first-team manager of the club. Betsy has joined the Reds on an initial two-year contract, having spent the previous season with Arsenal, where he managed the Under-23 side to a top-three finish in Premier League 2. The highly-rated coach spent five successful years in the England youth setup before joining the Gunners in the summer of 2021. Betsy took charge of the Three Lions’ Under-15’s, 16’s, 17’s and 18’s before making the switch to the Emirates Stadium.

The 44-year-old began his coaching career at Fulham, a club that Betsy spent three years at as a player. Kevin worked with the Cottagers for six years as a lead coach in the youth setup. During his coaching career, Betsy has worked with and helped nurture some of the most promising talents in English football with names that include Fabio Carvalho, Jude Bellingham, Ryan Sessegnon, Harvey Elliott and Eberechi Eze."

Duff would be my choice of the three, but Blackpool want him too.

Wasn't it their CB pairing a couple of years ago that was called Hartley and Poole? Starting to think they do it on purpose
