Carlisle United Football Club can confirm that manager Keith Millen has left the club by mutual consent.

Perhaps David Holdsworth needs to take over to prepare them for non-league.

Too late. Reg has finally bitten the dust. It took long enough. He should be nowhere near running a football club. He was storming on to the pitch at Walsall last season trying to claim credit for Carlisle being top of the league.

Paul Simpson returns to Carlisle. He won back-to-back promotions for Carlisle United from the Conference into League One in 2004-2005 and 2005-2006.

Assistant Manager Andy Crosby will continue to take charge of First Team affairs supported by First Team Coach Dean Whitehead.

Experienced coach Adam Murray, who has previously worked at Mansfield Town, Barnsley and West Brom, has joined Port Vale FC on a temporary basis to support Andy and his backroom team."
