If you’re not going to be in the stands of your next job, then you may as well be in the stands scouting one of your next jobs next opponents

Keith Curle was the co-commentator on BBC Radio Cumbria. I listened to him when I watched the game back on iFollow. He made some good points.

Purely a coincidence I'm sure, I mean it's not like he has previous.

He was there for radio Cumbria on Tuesday night and he’s been away with his son Tom the rest of the week, looked like Asia way.

I think he will probably just about keep them up. This appointment puts Gillingham squarely in the firing line.

I dont have much time for him, but one of the best managerial appointments you could make for any bottom half League 2 side

I can see Cooper at Forest being in the same boat as next game is Leicester v Forest. Lose that and the "tricky trees" are bottom having signed a ridiculous 22 players. I doubt he knows their names without badges on, never mind where they play.

They’re about to offer him a new contract according to reports.

Signing 22 players was needed as some of my Forest mates point out around 25 have gone out of the squad

Curle has managed 5 clubs that have subsequently lost their league status, ourselves, Chester, Torquay, County and Oldham. He's only managed 2 that managed to stay in the league after he left. Surely 6 would be a record and one I think he'll get. He's a terrible manager.

Don't you rate him Rob, you should have said

Curle has been a good fire fighter over the years since he left us. He takes over clubs that are basket cases in relegation trouble & gets them out of it. The fact he can't take them forwards after that is probably more to do with the regime at the club, than any of his failings as a manager.

As for his time here, he probably should have kept us up following our revival when he came in, but lets be honest, your mate Watkiss was a dreadful manager who would have had us relegated by March.

Curle also worked under Haslam, yet gets no slack for that & was the only boss to publicly call out Haslam's bull.

As much as I tried i cant let that pass

He only called Haslam out because he fell out with him, he didn't call him out whilst sat in the stands waiting for Watkiss to be sacked! They were very much best mates. He's a poor manager, that's why he normally gets crap jobs. He did a poor job here, not just the limp relegation after getting the most support any manager ever had from Haslam, but failing to get promotion with that 04 side, which was quite a feat! Dunno what you see in him to be honest, but you do always leap to his defence - Darren will be next, or he might accost me at Grimsby instead ;)

Any out of work managerlooking for a job would have been crazy not to be scoping out Field Mill given that we were getting battered week in week out.
