A weird one as he did excellently at Swindon, but has caused issues everywhere else.

Barrow is sticky wicket for anyone atm. Tough place to manage and attract players.

Get rid of Mark Cooper and replace him with Phil Brown. Wow.

That's a shame, I've always had a soft spot for Barrow.

Me too. Voted out the Football League and I don't think they even finished bottom. Probably a case of some of the other clubs didn't want to travel so far north.

I think and hope they will stay up.

They finished two from bottom (Stockport and Crewe below) and if the three-point ruling had been in force in 1971-72, Barrow had escaped the bottom four.

With three-point ruling then:

Barrow 46 13 11 22 50
Aldershot 46 9 22 15 49

Re-election zone:

Northampton 46 12 13 21 49
Chester 46 10 18 18 48
Stockport 46 9 14 23 41
Crewe 46 10 9 27 39

Actual table then:

Aldershot 40
Darlington 39
Chester 38

Re-election zone:

Northampton 37
Barrow 37
Stockport 32
Crewe 29
Stockholm, July 4, 2008, 15.00 GMT. Good news came, K.H. gone. March 1, 2012. Ground purchased.

Barrow would have been better off sticking with Mark Cooper.

Hope so

If they go down, it isn't his team and they were already doomed.

If they stay up, he's a miracle worker.

Good luck to Darrell

"Port Vale is delighted to welcome Manager Darrell Clarke back to Vale Park. The Gaffer is back as part of a phased return and will be supporting Interim Manager Andy Crosby and his team for the remainder of the season before taking charge again in the summer. Darrell will also be working closely with Director of Football Dave Flitcroft to continue the progress they and their staff have made on the field this season. They will be collaborating on projects ranging from player retention and recruitment through to the planning of the pre-season training camp and fixtures – as well as the development of the new club’s training facilities.

Mr Flitcroft said: “I know I speak for everyone at Port Vale when I say we are absolutely delighted to have Darrell back at the club and to be able to benefit again from his expertise, vast experience and the energy he brings. The structures we build are tested through adversity and, as a Board, we are extremely proud of the way Andy Crosby, Dean Whitehead and the First Team have built on the foundations Darrell laid, adapted to very significant challenges and put us in a fantastic position with eight regular season league games remaining. The process is robust and our work and planning never stops. It’s an exciting time to be involved with Port Vale Football Club and we are so grateful for the incredible support the team are receiving – home and away. My message to our fans is to please keep giving the players, Andy and his team your unconditional vocal support.”

We are delighted to announce that Lee Turnbull will be joining the Iron as our Chief Operating Officer. Lee will oversee the club's operational procedures and will be taking on the chairman's roles."

"Crewe Alexandra can confirm that The Club is parting company with First Team Manager David Artell. The Club would like to thank David for his substantial contribution, both as First Team Manager and in his previous role as Head of Academy. Alex Morris and Lee Bell have been appointed First Team Manager and Assistant Manager respectively, on an interim basis."

A bit surprised by that.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see them struggle next season the same way Scunny and Southend did, without any investment or another crop of youngsters coming through.

He’s had a good run at the club and must be a bit disappointed they haven’t stuck with him and given him the chance to get back up.
