He was fairly close to being Stags boss apparently, got down to the final three when Flipflop took over.

Darragh MacAnthony always says that sacking Darren Ferguson was the biggest mistake he made and he will not do it again. Darren Ferguson signed a new 3.5 year contract in November which takes him to the end of the 2024-2025 season.

I never knew that. Who was the other one?

I thought JR had made a target list based on highest win rates and Flitcroft was his No. 1 choice. Was John Coleman also mentioned?

Apparently the new Turkish owner of Hull City wants to a build an all Turkish squad and have the Turkey national side playing in the PL.

He is cited as the Turkish Simon Cowell both owning company which makes shows like the Voice and Deal or Deal in Turkey but also presenting it. What could possibly go wrong?

Where do they find these owners? Feel bad for Hull, from one maniac to another.

Given the state of the Turkish Lira and economy at the moment the banker on Turkish Deal or No Deal has probably died of exhaustion adding noughts to the prizes. Sorry, but what are the EFL and FA actually doing when it comes to checking out owners.

The Hull fans had no time for McCann and even less time for the previous owners. They seem to be very happy with the new owners, but it’s got all the hallmarks of tears.

Was going to say McCann not very popular there after their previous Championship relegation.

Does seem poor timing, but new owners are usually quick with the trigger finger.

That’s what happens when you lose to Dover who haven’t won for a year!

I think this might be a case in looking back in two years time asking how was this allowed to happen. Hey they could sign half the Turkish team and end up in the Prem, but I fear it could end up a right Fred Carnos and another club staring down the toilet.

Bromley manager Andy Woodman has turned down an approach to take over at Gillingham. A good 1-0 win over County yesterday.

This morning's Northern Echo has Grant McCann, Paul Cook and Neil Lennon as "early favourites".
Sunderland Echo has McCann and Cook in their "Top 10" (no mention of Lennon).
The other eight are Warnock, Alex Neil, Cowley, Roy Keane, Allardyce, Ainsworth, Duncan Ferguson and Jermaine Defoe.
In other words, put any name down. No mention of Nigel though.

Money seems to be on Duncan Ferguson and John Terry. I always think managing "big" clubs in League One is a poison chalice with owners at clubs like Ipswich, Sunderland and Portsmouth demanding instant promotion.
