Piece of cake really

Imagine if we hadn't gone through that losing patch, we'd have walked the league by now

As long as we can bounce back from any setbacks and keep up playoff form going forward I'll be pleased.

I think it will come soon but can't see it putting us off, we'll likely put it right immediately.

For us to finish 3rd we need 81 points (Sutton currently projected to get 80), I've sorted our remaining fixtures by difficulty. I have worked difficulty out by the oppositions form home or away, depending on where the fixture is played. By doing this it works out that we'll need the following results over the next 10 games:

Harrogate (A) 3
Colchester (H) 3
Bristol (A) 0
Newport (A) 0
Bradford (A) 3
Exeter (H) 3
Tranmere (A) 0
Port Vale (A) 3
Stevenage (H) 3
Rochdale (A) 1

I didn't know if anyone would be interested in this at all but thought it was worth putting it on here, and obviously form changes a lot so this could change massively quite quickly.

Someone's gonna slip up at some point I think. Forest Green love a good bottle but they look very good this year, I just hope it's not us but I just have a special feeling about us this season. I'd be buzzing to finish in the top 7, but I think we can get top 3 after the January we've had

It's in our hands to finish top 3. No praying yet.

Is it on our hands to finish top 3?

Yes we are 3 points behind 3rd with a game in hand but also we need to, as things stand right now, win that game in hand by 3 clear goals to take 3rd. We've not done that all season, Bar the Newcastle u23 game.

We have our fingertips on automatics at present. It's doable without relying on other results but it relies on us getting a specific result and not just winning

The play offs are in our hands, nobody can catch us without us dropping points.

Yes it is in our own hands. If we win every game we finish at least 3rd as we still have Northampton to play.

We wont win every game Ill tell you that now.

Next 6 games are incredibly difficult and we will do well to stay amongst the pack after them

I know we won’t. However the definition of it being in our own hands is that IF we did win every game then we are guaranteed third.

So do alot of other teams. There's only 3 spots for automatics. More teams have it "in their hands" as well by your logic. Right now it's in Northampton's hands but we have a touch on it.

Do Rochdale have it in their hands as well? They win the rest of their games they would get 87 points in total.

It's only fully in your hands when nobody can catch you without you dropping points.

Without getting too philosophical about what we can/can't control... I would say it is in our hands, as it is in most other clubs hands. It's only out of your hands when you're relying on lots of results "going your way" towards the end of the season.

No one at the club promised promotion but progress and a chance of the play offs, Putting things in order with a new C-E-O and manager the club took a hard look at itself and life after covid 19.
The club had a horrendous start but stayed calm and looked at and understood the circumstances with injuries and suspensions. and the fans supported the players through out.
What we did not realize was this was character building for the players and a bond with the fans.
The players and staff have delivered a season we had all given up on, and while 3rd is within our grasp we now sit 5 points clear of 8th giving us a unbelievable shot at the playoffs.
The clubs stance is we are putting Building blocks in place for a sustainable future for the club, and i want to thank them for a memorable season and with 18 games to go,
keeping level headed is hard whilst living on the edge Clough is right one game at a time its all i can take,

desperate for top 3 finish . Retirement Holiday booked and will be away for final . Missus would /will be far from impressed if I disappeared for a match and celebration day . , done a bit of research though just in case and the best sports bar is called The Robin Hood , now that's got to be a lucky omen if needed.

As we play Northampton in April, they can't win all their games if we do. Apart from that, no other club can take third place off us without us dropping points. So we can get third place without needing other results to go our way.
