Cheers Smulls. Updated.

How could I forget that. I set off from a caravan in Filey at 5.00am to drive to Leeds to catch a train to Cardiff (change at Gloucester). Nightmare journey back because the tunnel under the Severn was flooded so no trains to Bristol and loads of trains cancelled. Squeezed on to a little train to Gloucester. Packed in like sardines. Then had to change at Birmingham and Derby. Got back to Leeds around midnight and back at Filey around 2.00am. If we had won the penalty shoot out I don't think I would have made it back on the train to Leeds. Saw loads of Huddersfield fans on the way done but only one or two on the way back.

There are some wet lettuces on Facebook. One screaming unsportsmanlike behaviour when both teams agreed to pass it around. Also another old codger who is saying this is the worst stags team we've had in years, he usually posts something stupid when we win so I'm not that surprised on that one

If the play-off games had similar results to the league games it would be a Swindon v Northampton final, with Swindon gaining promotion.

Current Form (6 games)
...................W..D..L..PTS
Swindon........5..0..1...15
Northampton..4..2..0...14
Port Vale........3..0..3....9
STAGS...........2..2..2....8

Northampton's last defeat was at Field Mill, 7 games ago.

The Cobblers had the League 2 best defensive record, conceding only 38 goals, keeping 21 clean sheets.

Swindon were the League 2 top scorers, scoring 77 goals. Also, gained the most away points, 43.

Despite the league results and current form I'm thinking a Stags v Port Vale final.

You have missed out 2003-2004 - 75 points (5th-Play Offs) !! flipping disallowed goal v Huddersfield in final :o

Our first-ever promotion-winning season way back in 1962-1963 - 81 (Promoted-4th) (Converting to 3 Points for win) should also be included.

In 1951 we had a record of 26-12-8 (64 pts but if 3pts for a win would be 90 points)

Finished second but not promoted to level two because only the champions were promoted.

Also missing 1976-77 and the small matter of winning 3rd Div title. 64 pts 92 pts @ 3pts for a win.

Of course I realise now your talk Div 4 records. ;)

I think it will be the Darrell Clark derby in the final with Vale winning for him.

Incidentally he was back in the dugout yesterday with one of their players saying it makes a big difference to the team when he’s in the dugout. Maybe it is Darrell’s team after all ;)

Should've had a bet on it.
