Rochdale 25/1 (-2 handicap), -3 100/1 and -4 250/1

With our current defence those odds look a better investment than a cash ISA.

Having a look at sky bet at the handicap bit.

What the heck is a handicap draw (-3). I assume its either side -3 goals results in a draw then it's a win (just not both sides at the same time? I got mansfield -3 means we need to win by 4 clear goals and Rochdale +3 means Rochdale gets 3 extra goals and and if this +3 give Rochdale the win then the bet wins (its 1/40 so easily won most of the time.

Just wondered what the draw bit meant.

If you back Rochdale -3 then essentially the match starts at Mansfield 3-0 Rochdale. So you'll need Rochdale to win by at least 4 goals. If you back the draw at -3 then you're betting on Rochdale to win by exactly 3 goals.

Surprised at Bowery starting and Oates after being criticised last week, though I’m glad he is.
It does look a strong side if you forget about last week.

Its shame Gordon is so highly rated by the club... don't think hes done anything of late, alright at the back but not brilliant and been average going forward... and theres O'keefe currently the leagues best player and Luke O'neil out of contract

Thanks I got them it was the handicap draw. So -3 on the draw means either side needs to win by 3 clear goals? It doesn't state which side gets the handicap for it to be a draw. Is it either side. So a handicap draw of - 3 means I think either side will win by 3 clear goals.

Probably got sore bum cheeks after the Walsall striker put him on his arse when scoring there 3rd goal last week.

Interested to see whether it’s a diamond or 4-3-3.

I'd wager 4-3-3 with Bowery left inside forward and Hawkins on the right. Macca will get protection from Bowery like Benning did last season but our right won't be as protected as it was when Charsley was on the right of the front 3.

Edit: could be wrong and Hawkins could provide protection if Clough has told him to do so.

Hawkins got to be in the middle with Oates on his right I think... few people sat around us think we will get 3 points, Rochdale expecting an easy game here today

Be better off with Bowery or Hawkins in a back three with two wing backs.

Can we play Bowery at the back and just leave Hewitt up front where he can't do any damage.

And bag a hattrick just for extra . factor?

Yeah Hawkins would be central I think too. For some reason I thought he'd play Johnson because he'd got a goal and didn't twig immediately he hadn't started him. Maybe Clough is trying to get a "super sub" role for johnson?

I'm just looking for an improvement. Cut out out the individual errors and play with a bit of grit and determination.
I don't think I'm asking for too much.

I agree (it wouldn't multi-quote so I'll reply direct to you)

I thought he'd start Johnson so didn't twig he hadn't.

I'm on my phone and there doesn't seem to be that option. Thanks anyway.

Hewitt heads forward. I repeat. Hewitt heads forward. Also earlier he showed good strength to not be muscled off the ball and cleared.

Hewitt, dare I saw, is looking better today. Slight mid judgement for a header but that diagonal ball was lovely too, had it been half a yard slower

But also don’t think it’s any coincidence that we are winning more in midfield
