Really  you don't go for that reason.

I go to watch the footy and would sit on an empty milk crate to watch the lads.

With respect to the kiosks, I'm pretty sure you'll find the problem with opening them is getting staff to work in them.

Can't imagine there aren't plenty of 18-21 year olds on agency work in Mansfield able to pull a pint?

If we have ambitions of championship football then no matter what we do it won't be enough.

Championship average away attendance seems to be around 16k (average average across the teams - https://www.statbunker.com/competitions ... omp_id=690)

Most games championship away followings would easily fill 2 one call stadiums and that's just the away ends.

Make do and look at potential new sites for a ground.

Isn't the stadium squeezed in how it is because of the public footpath behind the Ian Greaves stand? It's a decent patch of land for a decent sized ground. Problem is it'd be through a public right if way (except on match day) .

That makes no sense, do championship sides really take 16,000 fans to away games!!

Am i the only one reading it like that?

There is absolutely 0 chance the average away following is 16k.

Derby set the season high for Championship attendances today with 33k with 3k Birmingham away fans.

it's not the away following, it's the average attendance at away games. So if you played away at Derby (att 18,000) and away at Forest (att 16,000), the average would be 17,000

What a rather useless stat.

The best stat I can find to help know average away fans is the fact Bristol City who have around average attendance in the championship bring 1,100 fans on average.

it is useless I agree. I never present it for Stags games when I present a raft of average attendance stats.

These were the stats I presented for 19/20 season, as an example:

Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Northampton game turned out to be the final match of the season.

Average league attendance at the One Call Stadium: 4418 (down from 4897 last season)
includes average away following at the One Call Stadium: 447 (up from 401 last season)
(note 2406 season ticket holders)

Mansfield took more than 1000 to only 1 away game (down from 7 last season).
Mansfield’s average away following: 465 (down from 983 last season)

I think you'd need to do some analysis on average size and also proximity.

Derby, Sunderland, Lincoln, Sheffield Wednesday, Portsmouth would all sell out any allocation with ease.

Ipswich would probably bring a good crowd possibly Burton due to locality.

Bolton, Plymouth and Charlton would likely sell it out.

Lots of big clubs in L2.

Barnsley probably too.

I though it seemed oddly but I don't look at attendance figures in the championship often (or at all really) so just googled average away attendance. That site came up. So I just ran with that.

In what way is the stat of any use to anyone?

So basically when forest play away they have played in front of the highest average number of fans in the championship? Forest fans can say that forest are the biggest side there because more fans on average come when they play?

Stupid stat site.

Maybe we don't need a 50,000 seat stadium after all. :D

I have been to two Championship games this season

QPR took 3,737 fans to Peterborough on a Saturday (filled new stand behind goal and one third of side stand). Derby took 2,599 fans to Barnsley on a Tuesday night (loads of room in big stand behind goal).
