Not bad that considering the price & the unispiring venue.

Extra Time. C'mon the Moors.

Understand with Solihull who maybe don't have such a large fanbase but Grimsby?

Seen a lot made of the prices and distance for this game and it's not much different to our playoff final and we managed it just fine, taking shy of 18k with some tickets costing much more than £40

The game should have been played in the Midlands, maybe Derby, Forest or Leicester - 30k would have been plenty. The ticket prices were also ridiculous for non- league football, greed has filtered down.

Anyway, come on Solihull, how any Stags fan could pull for Grimsby is beyond me.

Everything has to be in London. Its a mantra that extends way beyond football.

Often, it's much nicer than Grimsby.

Me too, it's a very nice place. Looks like Sedgy hasn't :D

Obviously living in Lincoln it's an easy away game and they will bring a bigger away support, but I still wanted Solihull to win. Grimsby makes Mansfield look like Bath.

See you in the chippy Yorkie

Solihull Moors ground is around 2.5 miles way from Solihull and is sandwiched between the Jaguar/Land Rover Plant and Birmingham Airport. There is a clubhouse at the ground but no other pubs in the vicinity. Parking is also limited around the ground.

Cleethorpes has some good real ale pubs and a micro brewery and a choice of Ernie Becketts and Steels for fish and chips. You can also get parked up easily and have a stroll along the sea front and a walk over the railway bridge straight to the away end. Get your 10,000 steps in. It's often more peaceful than walking down the main road where the fans can be trying to fight each other.

I was a little disappointed with Andrew Dallas up front for Solihull. He seemed to be a little bit off his A game. Joe Sbarra is a tidy player. I thought Ryan Barnett (22) did well on the right for Solihull. He seemed to beat Danny Amos at left back at will to float crosses into the box. The crosses were a bit hit and miss like most wingers but Oli Hawkins would have liked to attack some of them.

I enjoyed the game as both sides passed the ball around well at times and it was end to end. Solihull had the chances to win it and both sides could have had a penalty. Solihull were a bit unlucky with Kyle Hudlin having to go off injured as he was causing problems for Grimsby up front.

Went into the closest home fan pub last time we played them and it was one of the grottiest most depressing pubs I've ever been in. Peeling wall paper, mould, broken light fixtures, ripped and falling apart chairs and tables, toilets were literally rotting away. Hope it's still there.

Yes Solihull as a town is very nice but like someone said the ground is a non-walkable distance from the town and could be classed as being more part of Sheldon, Birmingham than Solihull. Literally no pubs or anything nearby so wouldn't be the best away day I don't think. Another local away game would have been good for me though.

HT: Grimsby Town 0 Carlisle United 2

Watching this game on Mariners TV. Owen Moxon gave Carlisle the lead in the 8th minute with a low shot into the corner from outside the area after good work by Jack Stretton (on loan from Derby) on the left.

Grimsby then had the majority of possession with Otis Khan being their best player. He shot narrowly wide from outside the area in the 29th minute. Alex Hunt and Harry Clifton were also moving the ball well in centre midfield. However a bad back pass by Grimsby right back Michee Efete in the 41st minute allowed former Mariner, Kristian Dennis, to nip in and round Max Crocombe on the corner of the area and shoot into an open goal to make it 2-0 to Carlisle.

Callum Guy is playing well for Carlisle in midfield. Jordan Gibson has been very quiet.

FT: Grimsby Town 1 Carlisle United 2
Attendance: 6,446 (144 Carlisle Fans)

Grimsby pulled a goal back from a cleared corner in the 65th minute when Otis Khan crossed from the left for Michee Efete to tap the ball into an open net. Grimsby had 76% possession but Carlisle defended well particularly Paul Huntington at centre half.

This was Carlisle's first away win of the season. Grimsby have not yet won at home.

Carlisle MOM: Paul Huntington
Grimsby MOM: Otis Khan
