Lapslie - most gruelling pre-season of my career

Postby Chadman » Thu Jul 29, 2021 10:31 am

George Lapslie says this has been the most gruelling pre-seasons he has every experienced but believes he is in one of the best dressing rooms he has been part of and can't wait to get started.

Hes going to be such an important player for us this season. I described him yesterday as like Craig Disley but twice as good. Has that same work rate about him. Top player. Our biggest problem might be keeping him here if he's doing the business.

Great to see they've had a tough pre season. We've seen how important that in recent years with the mess the last two made of it. In Cloughie we trust.

Twice as good as Dis ?
I very much doubt it. However, I hope you're right.

I think he will be as good as Disley if not better.

In terms of Stags, he’s already scored half the goals Dis did for us in a fifth of the games.

He’s already played at a higher level than Dis managed, albeit sparingly.

So I don’t think it’s an outrageous prediction.

He's worth more than Chesterfield's manager. Wouldn't you agree?

Maybe not millions but he potentially could make us a lot of money if he carries on like he is doing. Cracking player. I'd rather see him stay with us and become a Stags legend though, he's more than good enough to play for us in the league above.

Nah, he's gonna get t'sheep promoted this year. They'll get a record points total for the division, make the FA Cup semis win the Trophy. Real Madrid will come knocking next summer and prize him away from t'dip with a compensation package that'll make the rest of the EFL clubs worry that t'sheep will storm every division to their eventual domination of English footy for the next 20 years.

He is that good.
