Part timer. I've seen 5.

Which one have I missed, we had the old QLE scoreboard, the Haslam cheapo and the two in the Bish?

I only remember the 3 in the Bish. 2 obvious ones and that little thing that was QLE end of the same stand. I don't remember any more.

The old QLE scoreboard was brilliant, there will be pics of it somewhere. I went in it a couple of times and put some of the numbers up in the windows.

When are we talking? I went with the football in the community in the late 90s, football in the morning on the AstroTurf then get given a ticket for the West stand upper to sit in the old wooden seats so may be out of view? Or are we before then.

Yes before then. If you look at the old Quarry Lane End terrace from the pitch it was in the left hand corner, an old brick built building with windows on the front where all the scores were shown below a letter which corresponded to fixtures in the programme. You got into via a steel ladder which was to the left of the scoreboard as you looked at it. I don't remember exactly when it was demolished but probably in the early 80's.

I think it probably came down at the same time the ground was redeveloped but had been taken out of use years before. If memory serves the wooden bottom had collapsed and it was too dangerous to walk along the inside for fears of falling through.

I do remember the little hut, I assumed it was something to do with the floodlights.

This has got me thinking of owners over the years and as usual I'm struggling.
Eastwood, Abacus, Haslam, the 4 musketeers consisting of Hymas, Perry, Sutton and S...? John Radford then John and Carolyn.
I've got Sankey in mind and I'm sure others before Abacus.

Its been bugging me when it was removed as I know it wasn't there during redevelopment in 2000/01. So far I've narrowed it down to between 1987 and 1991 as watching old you tube games it was there in 1987 but not 1991. If I get time I'll watch some more footage to narrow it down further, unless someone actually knows? Please

1. The classic analogue QLE scoreboard
2. The Haslam era electronic scoreboard more or less in the same spot as the old one in QLE. Broke after about 2 months never fixed.
3. Itsy bitsy teeny weeny Green King scoreboard.
4. The seen from space when working monstrosity
5. The new one.

Bet you all forgot Haslam's effort.

That's the "little thing" I was on about.

This is definitely one of those thing that we shouldn't bother ourselves with but we also kinda need to know now

this is where the scoreboard was in the 94/95 season (not working at that point) - corner of Bishop Street and Quarry Lane end, next to the floodlight pylon

(the image is Carlton Palmer getting wiped out by John Doolan, a still from the footage of Mansfield vs Leeds from YTV)

The scoreboard is in the same position in footage from the 91/92 season (working at that point) and later in the 97/98 season (not working).

I'll defer to Rob on that as I found some quotes from him about it with regard to SSA making a contribution, but I cannot immediately find any photos.

That won’t be the Greene king one that’ll be the 2nd one we had after the letters one. The Greene king one is still there now.
