Goalie was awesome today, great performance from all. Johnson looks a good finisher, still think we need depth at the back but that was a enjoyable game and win

We’ve actually done what we seldom did last season score 2 goals away from home and manage to see the game out .

Well when people, you included, constantly post negative reactions to nearly everything the club does don't act surprised when it gets called out.

When we do well the usual suspects are nowhere to be found, when we don't do well those same people are the first to start smashing their keyboard on here

An excellent all round performance. We rode our luck on occasions but deserved the result in the end.

The team looked calm under pressure and comfortable with the ball. Sorry but I’m still not comfortable with Gordon at right back. He was leaving his man in acres (not yards) of space and I’m very surprised Hull didn’t exploit it by playing the winger in more often. His forward play was better but not good enough to justify his defensive frailties for me. That was the only negative I could see and it will be a good season if we stay as organised during the league campaign.

Well done to all involved including Gordon.

Gordon kept getting ripped by their winger, Potter it might have been everytime. To me Gordon isn't a full back but a winger but I don't make these decisions :D only grumble about a good day, can't wait for the season

A really promising result and the performance sounded excellent. Nothing to get excited about but should calm all bar the most negative fans' nerves

Keane Lewis-Potter was virtually ever present in Hull’s L1 winning side last season ( 43 matches/ 13 goals) and at 20 years old is seen as a bright prospect and likely to play in the Premier League. Give Gordon a break. He is obviously better going forward but is generally a decent defender. McLaughlin also got beaten quite a few time on the other side, but these are Championship players.

Enjoyed the game today and well worth the trip out.

Thought Shelvey was very impressive, Perch was assured in defence, and Quinn was great as well. The forward lads were busy and caused problems and they’ll only get better as they gain a better understanding between each other. Some promising signs from them today and nice for Johnson to get some goals.

Agree with notes above, Gordon does worry me defensively. He gets caught square too often so he needs to work on that. Offensively he’s pretty good as we know. He won’t play against wingers of that quality every week though.

Can’t wait to be back at Field Mill on Tuesday now, hopefully a good turnout for Cloughs first game with the fans at home. Will have been 528 days since we were last there! Side note - I thought Hulls turnout was very poor considering it had been 500 days since their last game at home with fans and they went up as league winners last year.

I must agree with some on here Gordon falls short on defending, and going forward is hit and miss, , clough knows what he wants and we will see if he makes the first 11.
Another good work out and Bowery playing in defence was a good learning curve, looking forward to stags fans back at the One Call Stadium although its only a friendly it should be a nice
evening and something to look forward to
