from John Albanese (Mansfield police) on facebook, in answer to "Are we allowed to go?"

Retford is a yes but only 50% capacity so max is 1000.
I’ve not heard anything back from Matlock yet, but would imagine it’ll be similar half’s the capacity.

This is FAQs for their home friendly tomorrow, so assume will be similar for us.

Basically, fans can attend, including away fans, and it is pay on the gate.

Two years ago at Retford the attendance was 525 when we played this starting XI

M Campbell;
Aiden Walker, Noah Stokes, Lewis Gibbens;
James Clarke, Jamie McGuire, Alistair Smith, Jason Law;
Tom Fielding, Tyrese Sinclair;
Jimmy Knowles

John Albanese has added this evening on facebook about Retford:

"1000 capacity home and away. Walk ups last I heard."

The league campaign had better hit the ground running or the natives will be restless.

The fans had a meltdown last season at the friendlies we had. To me, they're just fitness builders and a way to familiarise players with tactics and formations. Couldn't really care who we play tbh but like you say, if we aren't top 7 after 5 games the natives will be wanting Clough gone :lol:

Pre-season is what it says , and friendlies are part and parcel of building up fitness levels, and giving players insight into playing other positions, so they can relate to a position foreign to them
Any player who risks his fitness in a 50/50 will suffer the consequences for being irresponsible.
The natives will have to learn the word patience it is a 46 league program, and any league taking shape takes about 12 games just to start taking shape.
Clough and the club will move forward promotion the aim, but improvement the goal and the natives with pipe dreams will be upset, but the fans who are realistic will know
promotion has to be earned from a 46 game slog, And from 16th to promotion is a big leap

1. A friendly game of football is to Assess fitness levels, and formations.
2 any player risking injury will be deemed irresponsible
3 The natives will have to join the rest of the fan base in patience, no one can relate to a league table after only a few games.
4 after about 12 games the league begins to take shape, but it is a 46 game slog
5 we all have dreams, but moving from 16th to promotion is a big leap
6 will love to buy you a pint, me its a small gin and tonic, will be checking sandys bar out
