I agree that there are "hidden gems" in non league football, my guess is these guys who eventually make good have not previously had an opportunity to impress at an EFL club.

In Montel Gibson's case he has had two such opportunities, Notts County and Grimsby Town and at both he failed. Add to that a seemingly bad attitude, the previously posted Grimsby newspaper link demonstrates that adequately and the way he refused to play for Stourbridge in an important fixture makes my mind up for me.

Not worth the risk Nigel, keep Tyrese.

Ollie Palmer was crap for us in the league, but still managed to do well elsewhere and is now a L1 player.

Also Tyrese isn't a striker and hasn't done much when he's been given an opportunity.

I also take it no one here has ever taken a 'sick day' to go to a job interview for a better opportunity then? ;)

You neglect to comnent on what seems to ve a bad attitude as pointed out by the local Grimsby newspaper?

It's not about "sickies" is it, he could have gone on trial the day after, maybe better
still, had the scout watch him play and maybe impress with a goal or two.

Nah, for me a bad apple.

Otis Khan is a strange signing for Kenny Jackett who likes to play direct football and who also normally likes players over 6 foot. I can't see Otis twinkling around Orient's midfield but perhaps they will prove me wrong.

I'm sure Nigel will make the right decision. He will know more about him than us. It's only a rumour anyway.

Ipswich can't Dave but Ipswich B can.

They now have around 10 former Ipswich players in their squad.

Perhaps Akins is the utility player rather than the striker that NC was talking about….
