Mal had a very good game yesterday. He has defended much better under Nigel Clough especially winning headers. His final ball still lets him down.
He's much better starting than coming on as a sub.

30ish, although there are quite a few in the low 200's he could pass before the end of the season.

Just looking at the stats on the Transfer Market website and Sir Mal is 2 games of 250 Apperances in all competitions for the Stags. This is a fantastic achievement, when was the last time a player achieved so many appearances? I have a feeling he may stay for another season. Clough was speaking very highly of him a few weeks ago and joked about the Cricket which shows they have a decent relationship.

I feel Mals form has dropped off the past two seasons under Dempster and Coughlan, he's never looked the same since CJ left. I'd be pleased to see him get another year with us and a good pre season under Clough and hopefully, just hopefully get the promotion which I think he deserves.

He had a good game last night I thought. He was named in the League Two team of the midweek.

Mal Benning has been very good since his return to the team against Harrogate away (last 9 games). He just now needs to find his "shooting boots".

Agree with this. McLaughlin at left back didn't work and since Mal has returned, both players are much improved. Remember Mal had the old Covid earlier in the season, maybe these last few weeks he's finally fully recovered. Definitely worth another year, you don't just discard players with that many appearances, thought he was excellent on Tuesday.

If Mal cannot find his "shooting boots" then he needs to find his "crossing boots" that he was wearing in the first half for the Barrow away game.
