Nice to stop the poor run. Morecambe were absolutely dreadful and would have liked us to work their keeper more but it’s job done.

Maris has been our best player this season in my
View
Bowery has done ok.
The big question is which of the current players can
get us to perform at the top end of the table

One thing Reid does is work very hard to close down defenders.

He does well when the ball is hit to his feet, anything he has to move to get he's half a yard off the pace in his head.

Absolutely this

Too right , with Cambridge and Bolton you could see the threat coming, but Morecambe were so poor it makes yo wonder how they’ve got to 4th, not one of their players stood out

Maybe we stopped them?

As others have said, Maris was superb as the DM and the back 4 were very solid.

A bit disappointed with Clarke and Reid today, Law lacks real pace but did OK.

Missed the he but delighted at the result and for Bowery to get a goal again.

Eases the look of the table.

Maybe we did, but they didn’t appear to have any flair to create anything, just lumped it forward, bit like us under Dempster

That's the way they play and it's been very effective. The much criticised Sweeney and Rawson barely missed a header all game. I think we stopped them, but we need to be better further upfield.

It's a bit indicative of your average Stagsnetter.

When we lose it's because we are crap & nothing to do with the opposition.

When we win it's because the opposition is crap & nothing to do with us. ;)

A solid all round performance which was far superior to Tuesday’s effort.

The Stags were by far the better team without threatening too much but credit should be given to the defensive efforts of Morecambe. They are not mugs and are in the playoffs on merit.

Hard to pick a man of the match but my vote has to go to Maris who covered every blade of the pitch and never stopped. It’s important to follow this result up with a win on Tuesday night which again would be a considerable achievement.

Well done to all.

George Maris was my Man of the Match closely followed by Stephen Quinn. They were both very good today. Mal Benning played well. I've never seen him head the ball so much. Farrend Rawson also played well and didn't give Cole Stockton a sniff. Jordan Bowery and Jamie Reid worked really hard up front.

We played well in the first half. Lots of head tennis in the second half and had to scrap but we won all our headers and most of the 50/50 battles. An excellent three points.
