Forget the detailed report, that one is to long.

"That was sheite" would have been sufficient.

Don't bother with the detailed report Martin. Just do the player ratings, I like to compare my ratings with yours.

You said you couldn't find any positives from the game.
All I can say is the best sentence I read on the report was...

Behind closed doors.

Chris Beech, Carlisle manager, complained that Harrogate's pitch is very tight and you get no space. He said it was 8 yards narrower than Carlisle's pitch and that was why Harrogate lead the League 2 stats on turnovers (winning the ball back).

Surely it must be in permitted limit though ? 8 yards hell of a lot

Edited whole post. Found efl regulations

13 Registration of Ground

13.1 The dimension of the field of play for all League organised matches shall be as follows:

Maximum length 120yds (110 metres)

Minimum length 110yds (100 metres)

Maximum width 80yds (75 metres)

Minimum width 70yds (64 metres)

I thought the pitch looked very small last night. I just put it down to the low camera angle, but the pitch did seen very congested.

It may be me being dense (or just tiredness with the kiddo)

Why is there 10 yards between both length and width. But 10m between length and 11m between width. Is it just the conversion rounding up?

39 inches in a yard
39.37 inches in a meter

Would imagine the rules for the size came way before metric.
Every meter is longer than a yard by .37 of an inch.

I still order my timber 2.4 meter long by 4"x2"
Or an 8x4 sheet of ply 18mm thick.

Thanks. Never really use yards, except for football because it's "pretty much a metre"

By any definition there are 36 inches in a yard. 12 inches in a foot. 3 feet in a yard. If you google it, international standardization in 1959 agreed the measurements. Maybe yardsticks go beyond then? As you say, there are just over 39 inches in a metre which clearly makes the calculation of 39 inches in a yard impossible given the difference between a yard and a metre.

In Germany they call a penalty an elfmeter, 11 metres, because they don't know what a yard is  It's why FIFA/IFAB changed the 18 yard box and 6 yard box definitions to penalty area and goal area in the LOTG. When you get a wall back 10 yards, you are now taught it is 9.1 Metres.

It also upsets me (well not really) how many people can't spell metre and how it is always pulled up on a spell checker.

No I wasn't but I am so wrong, i would of lost money on that bet because I really thought I was right.
Probably best I don't mark out the 6 yard box and the penalty spot.
Cheers.

Still can't get it out of my head it's 39 inches.
