The old throw a leg at it and hope for the best, followed either by humiliation or by telling everyone you meant it. I think everyone at schoolboy age has done that.

Made good tv though, but then again, according to Mrs Spartacus so do Ant & Dec but like County they aren’t for me.

I'll settle for that. But a 3rd season in t'pit'd be nice for them too. :D

It would be better for them to get to final with no fans and lose to a 120th minute winner.

Good take but got a bit lucky, his touch took it too close to the last defender and was lucky to get past him.

Last defender was always behind him and his best effort at a challenge was to try and pull Knowles back . Maybe if he had done a couple of cartwheels or a spot of juggling on the half way line he might have impressed a bit more.as it is he only started off in one penalty box and left 11 opposition players in his wake before scoring

He gave the defender a chance though - just stating the obvious, no doubt a good goal and good turn of speed

He did everything he needed to. You make your own luck and Jimmy made that goal all by himself.

I didn't realise he was that quick. Excellent goal

I wouldn’t say his pace was particularly spectacular in they clip, stamina more impressive in the last minute of the game.

Maybe not CJ, however he is clearly no slouch.

Let's look at it from another way... like if it were Andy Cook. More than likely Cook would've been caught by the defender who'd still have time to tie his laces up before Cook got out his own half.

Maynard would have been on the half way line waiting for the pass, why run all that way :D

Notice from the Newport MB how some are starting to say about Maynard... 'another journeyman looking to top up his pension'.

Agreed RE Maynard. Some are saying we have no options of the bench now he has gone, but lets be honest how many times did Maynard come off the bench and win us the points? He usually looked like he would rather be elsewhere.

He got the winner v Dagenham in the cup, but it wasn't convincing from memory!
I agree he didn't look interested but when he did 'do something' his quality showed. I can't remember the game, might have been Barrow or Harrogate at home and he hit a thunderbolt and was unlucky not to score.
Like most have said, he's best out of it and we move on to next season.

I'm always amused when they say he didn't look interested? Just cause he didn't run around like a Looney, Danny :) . He's probably loving playing on that beach down Newport so we have to move on. Trust in NC.

Took him off and they concede an injury time equaliser. I don’t know the stats but it seems to me that when Jimmy is on the field the team do well.
