January-February 2017. Cambridge United (A) 3-1, Leyton Orient (H) 2-0, Barnet (A) 2-0 and Hartlepool (H) 4-0.

Before that, there was a club record with 12 wins in a row in the marvellous NL 2012-13 season!

That was a club non-league record ;)

Who was the manager?

Steve Evans (just 2 months in charge at that time)

Blimey. I thought it must’ve been Flitcroft with such a good stat ;)

I hope Clough manages one of Flitcrofts league finishes. 8th and 4th. The two best finishes in 16 years!

I’d be disappointed if he is only able to a match what Murray achieved

Then we would have NINE if that was the case.
If you have got NINE then surely you would not lack confidence ?

Cook had a good game, and Stone made a impact with a magnificent save at 2-3 when it gave us 3 points, Reid, Clough happy with what he does me like a lot think he is out of his depth But scored a clinical goal made it and put it away, also got man of the match, as normal Clough proves me wrong , having said that what a leap of faith Clough shows to his players.
A brilliant 3 points, F_A cup forgot already.

I need a cup of tea after reading that.

P.S. I was just double checking it was Steve Evans who was manager when we last won four in a row ;) I remembered it had been mentioned on this thread. I also need a cup of tea now because KKT's comment above meant I spilt my first cup.

I’m taking the only results matter line on stats after deciding to take the advice of the Stagsnet football genius brigade. Therefore nothing else matters except for where they left us at the end of a completed season.

If I pay someone to clean my house, I’m not praying the spotless living room whilst the bathroom still needs cleaning.

Best managers since Deardon got us up in 3rd.

Flitcroft - 4th
Curle - 5th
Cox - 11th
Murray / Evans -12th

I reckon Clough will surpass them all.

Deardon left us before promotion. Watkiss took us up.

DF took us from 5th (2 points behind Wycombe in 3rd, 1 point off County in 4th with a game in hand and 7 points clear of Lincoln in 8th) to 8th outside the play offs (12 points behind Wycombe in 3rd, 5 points behind County and 3 points behind Lincoln). DF won 2 out of our last 12 games and had a win rate of 16.67% and an average of 1 point per game in 2017-2018. We may have been relegated if he had been in charge with that form all season. Barnet were relegated on 46 points as they had a worse goal difference than Morecambe.

Surely you cannot be giving DF any credit for finishing 8th in 2017-2018. Any credit for finishing in 8th that season needs to be given to Steve Evans and he would point out we were 5th when he left with a great chance of promotion.

Mods: This needs moving to the DF v Evans thread

I’m just taking the urine Tippy. Flitcroft, Evans, Murray and Cox all did a good job in different circumstances.

I’m just enjoying the Clough era, which I think could go on to be the greatest in my lifetime, if not in our history (and the stats that go with it!)

I was going to pick Pete up on his spelling of Billy's surname as well as asking who Watkins was, but did some wallpaper stripping instead!

:D It’s understandable though as he’s only a part time fan so we can forgive him ;)

I was just copying KKT spelling and seeing if anyone picked up on it.
