Right I think we all know it’s only a matter of time before he gets the sack but let’s think realistic who do we think we can have forget cook, cowleys because neither will come, Paul tisdale, nigel Clough?

Not Nigel Fluff please, did well with Burton over a very long period of time but ya Stags fans haven’t the patience for that.
Paul Cook is the dream...
Also would like to see who applies.

We don’t want an appointment like that. We need a manager with some experience and some tangible success on his CV. No coincidence that under Evans and Flitcroft who both had experience and a promotion on their CV we had our best couple of years (let’s not open up another debate on the pair of them though). As soon as we revert back to taking punts on inexperienced managers it all goes to pot.
You can factor in as many other circumstances as you like but there’s no getting away from that. It’s fact.

Ryan Lowe was an inexperienced manager.
Dave Artell was an inexperienced manager.
Michael Flynn was an inexperienced manager.
Just because it hasn’t worked for us this time, doesn’t mean it’s the wrong road to go down.

Cook is 2nd favourite for the Salford job so maybe not out of the question. It would be a situation similar to Evans where any chance he gets he will be off to a league 1 club.
I would take Evans back as I think he has genuine unfinished business, in my eyes Flitcroft had his chance to take us up twice. If he leaves Gillingham I can’t see many league 1 clubs sniffing around so we would be unlikely to see a repeat of last time. There’s been photos of him with the Radford so perhaps differences have already been put aside.
We do need a proper process though, like StagsFan says see who applies and what ideas they have. You may get some coaches at Champ/Prem level who want to make the step up and have some exciting ideas. We just need someone to lift the club and get a bit of a buzz back around the place where fans look forward to watching us play.

I don’t doubt it can be done by an inexperienced manager at all. I just think it would be more sensible approach to go down a route with some experience this time. We tend to fare better in my opinion like that but time will tell!

As there’s a DOF they need to sit down with sharpe and decided a battle plan going forward.
A blueprint on how the club should play (preferably nothing resembling what we played under coughlan) throughout the club.
Managers coming into the club should adhere to that football philosophy to ensure when/if a new manager comes in the disruption is kept to a minimum.
The next manager who comes in has both a big job on their hands but also should be the first of a blueprint of what we’re aspiring to achieve

Paul Cook would be the dream. Would also be happy with Darrell Clarke (Currently employed though), Nigel Adkins, Nigel Clough or even a return of Big Steve Evans!
The main thing is, lets get this appointment right.

Realistically, would take any of Clough, Clarke, Alexander, probably even Keith Hill. If we can get anyone better than that, great.

Even if we got somebody like Cook he would probably morph in to Carlton Palmer by January.

We need to be realistic, Cook and the Cowleys should be getting top end league 1/ Championship clubs,
I’m looking forward to seeing the skybet market, I wouldn’t mind Clough/Hill/Adkins
Need to stay away from managers that have failed recently ie Paul Hurst.

Yeah but Steve Evans would be neat.

I hope not, he was talking about GC allowing him to take a couple of sessions and him enjoying the experience the other week, even as a caretaker you need more experience then that.
I think it will be cooper assisted by whitlow/mcguire.

what about that caretaker coach/assistant manager at Barnsley, seems to be doing a good job.
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.
