Derry managerial record is poor, no thanks!

If we’re going down the Derry route, I’d rather have Murray back.

Having listened to Danny on that D3d4 podcast, We'd be lucky to have him... Dont think it will happen but would be the best option.

I met him when Murray was in charge, he definitely knows his stuff. I'd be happy to.give Paul Heckingbottom a chance.

Whoever it is will have a number of pre-determined doubters who will predict abject failure, criticising their past record\clubs, tactics. attitude, experience, salary, management style etc.
Just look at all the current suggestions and people finding reasons to reject them. We are currently about the 90th worst team out of 92 in the top 4 leagues, and we're trying to be selective about who is good enough to manage the team..... Suck it up boys, we get who we can and then deal with it.

JR could appoint Jurgen Klopp and there'd be somebody on here mouthing off about what a bad appointment it is.

Just for once..... can we try to show the new manager and owners a untied front on not undermining the appointment when it's made? (Big ask, I know :D )

In fairness, fans were pretty much united on the appointment of GC. BR were 4th in league 1 and had just won at Ipswich - we were all excited as were the owners.

I don't think anyone thought that the appointment would turn out to be so bad

Nigel Clough would be an excellent appointment. At the moment, the whole club is in need of a big lift and Clough would provide that in the short term. However, as someone has commented with reference to Burton Albion, he would lay the foundations hopefully for progress in the more long-term. I would have thought he would have enough contacts in the game to find the players he wants.

He had a record at the Sheep, which makes GC's record here look good!

Surely he's not a credible option. Had a bit of success at Wigan ( like our previous manager did at Bristol Rovers ). Then been a disaster at Cheaterfield and Partick Thistle.

Always thought Simon Grayson had a bit of something about him, quite short odds at the minute.

I’ve not seen it personally, but apparently Paul Cook was on the Sky Sports Football Show this morning, and according to twitter said he would take a job anywhere. Interesting.

In contention doesn't mean anything really, could just mean he has applied and we will interview him. By no means does it mean he will get the job.

I would take Clough/Cook/Alexander.

Stay away from Derry, Caldwell, Heckingbottom for me.
