If it is Cloughie, I'm going to give him 2.5 years (minimum) before I lose faith in his appointment or call for him to be replaced.

#Stags set to appoint former #nffc striker and Derby, Burton and Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough as their new manager. Expect confirmation in the next 24 hours or so.

I think it’s fair to say we’re beyond the speculation stage.

I couldn't agree more Rob.

This appointment for me shows that the Radfords are interested in the long term success of MTFC and have led with their head this time instead of their hearts. I am assuming DS has had a major input.

Looks like it's a done deal.

One of the biggest positives which not many will mention is the Head of Scouting that will cone with him and i should guess some will say is nepotism.

His brother Simon and I think it's still Michael Forsyth alongside him find some incredible gems for peanuts.

Usually from North of the border and while lesgue 2 may be a more difficult sell, i think Mansfield under Nige will be an attractive enough proposition.

If there's any way on gods earth he can somehow get John Brayford to come as a player / player coach, he'll sort out the right back / centre half and leadership issues in one fell swoop.

Delighted it's over the line and buzzing that it's at a club with a decent owner, a decent fan base and a bit of ambition.

Come on you Mighty, mighty Stags ;-)

True! not sure their fans would want nige back but theyre along way off where he got them.

Ive spent a lot of time at a lot of EFL clubs and Derby tend to think were just a joke club  where as Leicester/ Sheffield u etc think were a decent club for our size.

Would like to see what Sheff U fans think of this appointment

Doubt it, we'd have to pay compo for him as he's Burton's manager
