Yep, the same people will be moaning 'we didn't take long enough interviewing' if the next manager goes tits up again!

There's only so much mileage you can get out of a conversation about lighting coal fires.

Could there be a twist in the tale? Everyone been saying Clough since the weekend. You’d have thought if so he’d have been announced by now..

I agree, he’s not seemed sure since the start.

Well the pressers for the last 2 games were posted to twitter last Thurday at 6:22pm and the zoom interview for the Bolton game was posted at 7:38pm on Friday.

I reckon maybe a teaser at half 5/6pm indicating the press conference is about to be posted.

Or just to be completely unexpected, just drop a presser featuring the new manager with no prior announcement. Then announce properly 15 minutes after posting.

I'm not expecting an announcement either way (new manager or Coops taking the Sunderland game) for a couple more hours at least.

Is that a guess or rumour? Not seen anything official on an announcement?

Pete O’Rourke on Twitter says Clough is expected to be named manager in the next 24 hours

He tends to only post when it’s nailed on.

Maybe spent today with his new squad then do some media and announce it tomorrow?

Really pleased with it

Skybet took it down earlier this afternoon

Mansfield Town are set to appoint Nigel Clough as their new manager ahead of Derby County, Football Insider understands.

The 54-year-old has been linked with a return Pride Park amid speculation over Phillip Cocu’s future, with this site revealing that showdown talks between the Dutchman and the Rams took place today (Thursday).

Still all mere speculation until MTFC or a club official make a statement. Do hope it's Clough though

103.2 are freely talking about it, it's either a very elaborate decoy or it's a done deal.

I don't think Cocu will be going anywhere while Mel is still there.
