FA cup 1st round draw.Sunderland away

Postby chip63 » Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:41 pm

Cray Valley Papermills would be good, what a great name to be in the first round.
I see the cheats won on penalties to be in it.
Looking forward to it.

Couldn’t give a flying scooby about it this season. Let’s hope we get those papermills at the Mill, and GC can show what he’s really made of. 0-0.

Or even more unlikely by winning two penalty shoot outs.

We are numbered 27 in the draw.

We'll draw either County or the Sheep and get beat.

This will be followed by Stagsnet appealing to more patience with the manager

We can’t draw Notts County... they pulled out of qualifying due to C-19 cases in their squad. We need an easy game against a team of blind octogenarians. Get the first goal then shut up shop.

I didn't realise that they were completely out of the tournament. Every day is a school day!

Because of the tight schedule of the season they’ve said if you can’t fulfil an FA Cup fixture then you’re forfeiting it. Because Notts has 6 players with it which meant they had no players for certain positions, they pulled out on Thursday. They’ve also called off two more games this week too. King’s Lynn get a bye to the first round proper. I bet that’s who we end up getting.

Bearing in mind that we are ripe for a non-league giantkilling, the positive side could be that our cup match could be televised if we draw non-league opposition particularly away from home.

That sounds like the advertising slogan for the worst ‘City Break Holiday brochure’ in history.

There will be loads of EFL Chairmen hoping to draw a non-league team away so they have a chance of getting some TV money.

Chorley FC please, just to hear the phrase ‘coming in your ears’.

Childish, I know but I am a fan of Phoenix nights.

Did we not play them last year when we won 1-0 under Dempster?
