It's not really a fair appraisal though because he picked up the worst side in living memory. He was never going to turn them around.

We have to compare him to Dempster for the worst ever manager accolade after he's had 20 games from season kick off.

What's the constant?

Poor decisions at board level.

1. Trusting Evans and buying into his rubbish and allowing him to spend what he did on players.
2. Appointing Flitcroft and giving him 2 transfer windows to deliver what Evans promised whilst still having to pay some of Evans signings.
3. Appointing the youth team manager and expecting him to do the same.

Whether GC is a mistake or not remains to be seen. However our fitness levels have improved on last season but have they by enough? We seem to be running out of steam with 20 minutes to go. This could be down to the long gap between the seasons and the hampered pre season we had with the cup game. I'd say see where we are in a couple of months. Far too early to get a new manager in. Or do we want a new manager now and then sack him for not getting results later in the season and then get a 3rd in. It worked wonders for Notts County.....
