Just no

You’re not another Stags fan that hates the idea of signing Hylton because he ‘dives too much’ are you? (He’s too good for us anyway and Luton will probably re-sign him if/when they get relegated).

If you’d see his actions at Oxford the other year, you’d be the same. I have seen him since he was at Aldershot in the conference and he’s a cheat. Makes Rose look like Alan Smith.

I've seen him play against us plenty of times over the years. Couldn't care less if he bends the rules, he's a proven goalscorer at this level. I'd be happy with him diving and conning the ref to win us a few penalties - the teams that finish near the top of our league are usually good at this.

Agreed. Players like Hylton, Ellison are the type you hate playing against your team but when you've got them you love them because they are so influential.

That's arguably another fake account to avoid

Really don't get what all the fuss is about, its a rumour and that is all - its nice to be linked with players especially given the lack of football at the moment. Heck someone even said Neymar had signed yesterday. Do I believe anything until it's officially announced by the club? No, nor should anyone else. Even confirmed transfers can go pear shaped at the 11th hour so take them with a pinch of salt.

If people don't have the time then just wait for any official announcement, alternatively why don't we have two threads? Confirmed transfers with official announcements only and a sperate rumour thread knowing that they are only rumoured nothing more.

Martin I understand why you are frustrated by fake news but by constantly shooting them down your likely driving traffic away from the website, rumours no matter how mindless give people something to talk about in this forum. Given the current climate and very little else football wise to be discussed its something that I believe should be at the very least tolerated rather than detracted from if it leads to healthy conversation amongst users.

Are they rumours if some sad teenager sat in his room is plucking names out of a hat?

One of their sites said yesterday that Billy Kee will be joining someone from Accrington, the club he left god knows how many months ago. Surely people don’t want that rubbish? And believe me, I love a transfer rumour, but not made up ones.

If that is what they want, I’ve just heard we’re resigning Andy White tomorrow. Done deal.

Bolton think Eoin Doyle is a done deal and are also chasing Antoni Sarcevic who was one of Plymouth Argyle’s star players this season winning their Player of the Season Award.

Sarcevic is a cracking player at this level and has been doing it consistently for Plymouth. Bolton and Salford will have a big say in the league next season .

Will Sarcevic be next from Plymouth ? Doyle reported to be on £5k a week on a 3 year deal ? Or could Bolton hope he fires them to promotion and off load him next season ? So will cost them £200k + for the best striker in Division 4 if they can off load ?

Think im with you on this one.

Another player were being linked with with no re sale value. played on average around 10 games a season for the last 8 years and not really sure where hes going to fit into the first 11 when we already have CJ and Benning fighting out for a left side sport.

Think he played 30 games last season but in a very poor Southend team.

Must be better with more potential out there for the resources we currently have !!!

Is he more injury prone that Danny Ings or Harry Kane?

There cannot be many players of his age who have not been injured at some time during their career.I will trust the manager to sign the right type of players to help us get promotion. We need two centre backs.I hope we can get Bostwick.

also what's this sudden concern about resale value? Not saying this signing makes promotion nailed on, but surely that's where the money comes from, especially anything greater than what any L2 player tends to sell for?!

Given the millions the Radfords have pumped in over the last few years, for us still to be in the same league and had our worst campaign since we returned to the league, they probably want to see some sort of return on their investment.

They’ve spent the last three seasons trying to achieve that return via promotion to no reward. Therefore, they’re probably sick of sticking all their eggs in the promotion basket, and want the club to be more self sufficient by nurturing younger talent which could be sold on.

No signs of that at the moment.

The new signings, and the rumoured signings (Bosthwick and Doyle) suggest we are following the same well trodden path.

Jamie Reid, Rose, CJ, Stone, Gordon, Clarke, Knowles, Graham, Smith, Sweeney, Charsley, Tomlinson.

They're sellable assets, we just need them to be successful for other teams to want to buy them.

We also released a lot of our experienced players, so they do need replacing. We've goalkeeper position sorted, but probably want a couple more older heads in defence and midfield. It's about getting that balance right, the average age of our team was like 30 or something last season I believe

Because we are lacking in experienced players at the moment, so they need to be recruited. The average age of the squad currently on professional contracts is 23, therefore there’s no need currently to recruit a mass of players with sell on value, as the majority of the squad are already in that bracket. The oldest player on a professional contract currently is 30 years old.

If we were truly bothered about resale value of players CJ would have been gone when he was on fire but we publicly said were not a selling club anymore.
