That's one rumour put to bed then

Bolton fans thinking they're going to smash the league, think they might be in for a surprise of two next season.

Bolton have only just started and a much much bigger club than us , 6 figure sum to poach a manager and now a top signing in Doyle says to me they will smash this league . At least we can look forward to a full North stand

We've been spending boat loads on playing/managing staff and look where we are. Bolton will be a scalp team, away teams will take more fans as it's a big stadium and theyre 'big fish' in a small pond

Depends which version of Doyle they've acquired the free scoring Swindon version or the goal shy Bradford version. Needs a team to be built around him to be successful so could easily go either way. Bolton fans will have just seen the number of goals scored and think it's job done give us the title now.

Either way adds to the spice of the fixture next year with his and Evatts past association with the sheep being the closest the Spireites will get to league football next season.

Not too fussed on missing out on Doyle if he was after a three year deal at his age. Very good record at this level but with our record of expensive older players over the last few years who have made no impact or had injury issues, I’m not too bothered.

So how many players do we think we still need then? 3cbs (if we’re going 5 at the back) were covered at wing back. 3 cms? Only have Charsley, tomlinson, Clarke at the moment. 1 striker?

In my opinion we desperately need some creativity across the 7,10,11 positions. Players who can do something out of nothing. I’m not sure GC will be in for those sort of players though.

Agree, 3 cb, 1cmid, 1 striker if Cook leaves as expected.

Whoever he brings in GC will get the Normal 12-15 games before the fans start to turn on him if things aren’t going well . It’s essentially he gets the recruitment right with the backing of the Radfords .

Do we think we need a right winger? Been a while since we’ve had someone who can beat a man from that side. We don’t need one if we are playing 3-5-2 but would be our plan b option.

Andy Cook will be on decent wages and I very much doubt that in the current economic climate he will get another club to match them. If Tranmere Rovers are offering players new contracts on less money then they will not be able to afford him. I therefore think Andy Cook will still be at Field Mill next season.

I for one wouldn't mind Andy cook here next year, as long as he's not sulking in the reserves IE Anderson V2. He's a good goalscorer at this level

We definitely need some creativity signed.

As it stands our most creative player is CJ, and I'm adamant even he doesn't know what he's going to do still when he gets the ball.
