Well you can't fault Couchlan and Maynard. They're saying all the right things, we just need that win to propel us up the table.

Good news about White and Rose nearing a comeback.

Fingers crossed we just get a few new bods in this week to liven up the squad a bit.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Think we're hearing different things, i think it sounds positive, have identified issues, aren't making many excuses for poor areas and have outlined pretty.much exactly where we are and what's needed to get to our goal, which GC has set at 50 points.
Worlds apart from demps to me.

The difference for me was that Dempster didn’t seem to know what the issue was, we were working hard but just unlucky. Whilst it can sound like excuses Coughlan has identified what he wants the change (play pressing and improve fitness to do this) and needs time to get the players to standard. Individual errors come with tiredness which is visible within our players towards the end of each half at the moment. The issue for me is switching off at set pieces, we’ve got to improve that quickly as it’s an easy way to lose matches as we have already found.

Spot on about set pieces, the joint most conceded in the league, 13 in total, 29% of our goals conceded.

GC is exactly what we needed, when we needed it otherwise we would be going down imo.

I think his first few signings will paper of the cracks and keep us up. A win against a raspberry side might kick off a small run to get is to safety.

Over the summer he will add and slowly build a good hard working team that matches what Mansfield is all about.

Some of the players on massive wages trying to play fancy and not giving it their all the past couple years hasn't felt all the Mansfield has it? I wasq big fan of Lincoln last year and would love us to replicate that

JD realised their was a problem that’s why he got rid of the previous fitness coach, and tried to improve confidence in the team by bringing in Broughton, which sadly didn’t seem to work.
However, you could argue we had better results under JD if you look at the last four games?

Just watched the full Maynard interview on follow.

Very interesting comments about the team's fitness during Dempster's reign. He said that the players so the work that's asked of them and that the increased focus on conditioning under GC has been much needed.

A little bit of evidence to back up those of us who were critical of the fitness levels under JD

With regard to fitness, Otis Khan videos pre season were posted where he went on special Lake District courses and everyone was saying well done and he still can’t get in the team with both managers at the helm.
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.

There's a great player in there somewhere, but if we don't play Khan regularly or to his strengths then he's just a passenger

It could be similar to the Sam Clucas situation.

We will let him go for peanuts and he will do well at another club and his value will rise.

I can't see him fitting into GC style of play. Similarly with Clucas under PC.
