Going down at this rate

Postby Random Hero » Sat Jan 18, 2020 5:01 pm

24th in the form table for three weeks now and the worst home record in the entire football league.

We are in deep trouble.

5 points away from trouble after today.

Morecambe game is massive.

Got to wonder whether today’s loss (plus if/when we lose on Saturday) will force GC into trying to sign one or two more players than he originally intended to.

It's alright playing well but if we keep conceding 2,3 or 4 goals per match we will be in big trouble. We need a few clean sheets.

Why? We’re the worst form side in the league and they are the best. Do you think he expected to win?

I'm assuming, so have they.

It's possible we could be below them when we play them.

More than likely not, but it's possible.

Why won’t we?

Worst home record in the league, 2nd worse defence in the league

Worryingly this squad reminds me of the one that went down before.

He said nothing different. Learn to read.

You can still think we’re woeful without thinking we wil be relegated.

It’s yet another loss, and we’ve been dragged closer to the bottom again. Perhaps more than just one or two new faces are needed to change our fortunes? There’s just too many players performing poorly week in week out and yet these same players aren’t at much risk of being dropped due to our lack of depth.

He won’t have expected to win however I’m sure he expected us to be picking points up more regularly than we currently are. 5 points from 7 games under GC so far.

The majority of these players bottled promotion when in a fantastic position.

How will they react in a relegation battle ?

Well done everybody! The penny is dropping.

Been saying it for weeks. Maybe I can just spot things well before it becomes obvious to the majority.

In truth the next three games could be season defining. Against teams around us. Win two and draw one and we are pretty comfortable. Lose all three and we could well be in very deep trouble.

I’d like to think we are better than Morecambe but we have now played them twice and not won either time.

We also couldn’t beat Stevenage.

I posted after we lost 0-4 to Cambridge at home that I thought we were in a relegation battle. Not that it’s a competition.

Those games were against a previous manager though. Coughlan has had no expected win games so far. You would say Grimsby was after the kick off and we failed in that, but that was before we’d had time on the training pitch.

People are panicking too early IMO. Still around a third of the season to go, and we’re 5 points clear of two teams, 6 points effectively on Morecambe with the goal difference.
