The Bradford fire was caused by a)Source of ignition (a fag) and b) Fuel (20 yrs of rubbish, crisp packets etc under the stand) The wood was not the primary cause of the tradegy.

Building a stadium for 5000 seems a little pointless. Hardly ambitious is it?

Not very 'resourceful' if they out grow it, which they should do. They'll need a new one almost immediately.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Don’t be soft, AWC. It’s made of wood I it’ll grow.

Junction 28 would be ok by me. I could walk to matches then

Anything at FGR is better than that crappy hill road in and out of the ground.

Junction 28 is in Derbyshire.! Remember dashing from the Duke of Sussex to S.Normanton on the dark side for an extra 30 minutes drinking on friday nights.

If I remember correctly (doesn't happen often these days), it was every day except Sunday. Notts pubs shut at 10.30 in the week and Derbyshire at 11.00.

On Sunday every pub had to stick to the National hours and close at 10.30. They also had to end the dinner time session at 2.00pm instead of 3.00pm.

I'm sure that both Notts and Derbys closed at 11 all week except Notts closed at 10.30pm on Sundays. Lived in Pleasley growing up and river medan was the border. Swan one side and Nag the other. Ran from one side to the other on Sunday nights.

The Licensing laws allowed evening opening for only five hours.

Notts pubs opened 1730 to 2230 hrs, whereas Derby pubs opened at 1800 to 2300 hrs.

Lunch time opening was standardised at 1100 to 1500 hrs. (4 hours only)

However Sunday were different.

Lunch was 1200 to 1400 and evening 1900 to 1030 hrs in both counties.

The Sunday open hours were because of church service times. Morning services generally didn’t finish until noon and evening services finished by 7pm.
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.

I lived near the New England and people would dash to Pleasley for extra half hour.

On the upside and a real positive for tomorrow is surely it’s impossible for them to be as bad as last week?

So on that basis there should be signs of improvement tomorrow!

I quite like the idea of a sustainably built stadium. Their owner is clearly environment ally conscious and this stadium shows that he is keeping to his roots
