Argyle scorefred sponsored by have we turned a corner?

Postby Foresttownstag » Wed Sep 25, 2019 6:51 pm

JD reckons we’ve turned a corner and we’ll soon be shooting up the table, unfortunately I don’t share the same optimism however Saturday presents another chance to get 3 points on the board!

Desperate need for 3 points, I’ll go 1-0 Mansfield with a goal from Danny Rose.

4,800 in attendance with 600 from Plymouth

I'll make a prediction.

Stags 3 - 0 Argyle
White
Rose
Maynard

Also, Olejnik to start. Once he makes his first save, now matter how routine it was, someone verbally abuses Logan.

What's the point of these threads if someone is only allowed to post winning scores for the Stags

Stags 0- 1 Plymouth.
The call goes up to give Dempster another 20 games to see whether he can get a win.

We never seem to do well against Plymouth. Real bogey side, can only really remember 2 victories against them in 20 odd years.

Anyway, 0-3 Plymouth.

I remember way back in 70 or 71 that they came to us on a Friday night and won 5-1, ran us off the park and we were rubbish and then on the following Tuesday we hosted Bill Shankly's mighty Liverpool and got a 2 all draw and unlucky for Dudley Roberts winner to be disallowed.

I agree that the team may think they have turned a corner but I am not sure 100% they have so will go for frustrating 1 1 draw with many missed chances and late equaliser by Argyle and some meltdown on here as we wont move up too many places in the table .

Question is can we defend a last minute corner?
I think it depend smite on what Plymouth side turn up? Heart says 2-1 stage head says another 2-2 draw.

Didn't we beat Plymouth at home 1-0 when Murray took over and we played really good passing football?

Same again, Dempster to get us playing like barca and a 1-0 win

Argyle will improve as the season goes on so now should be a good time to play them. That said we aren't exactly firing on all cylinders either and they will be thinking exactly the same.

I think the first goal will be vital and if we score first we will go on to win. Even if they score first, I think we will get a draw but it won't be pretty if that's the scenario.

If we can concentrate for the first 30 minutes I think we will have done enough to be ahead and go on to a 2 - 0 victory. Another pay day for Mr Spartacus at the bookies.

ICYMI, he's been out injured for the last ten months with a serious injury, which not may players come back the same from. Of course I hope he does, but anyone expecting him to come back in and be showing the form he was last season straight away are asking too much IMO.

If Stags play all-out attacking football then, win or lose, it will be ok with me.
If Dempster offers more of the same 3-at-the-back (which is really 5 defenders plus a defensive midfielder, so 6 at the back) then he'll lose my support. Why do so many managers try so hard not to lose a match rather than attack, they they inevitably lose the match??!! Be brave man!

1.1. They will be too strong in midfield and chances few.
