Very worrying that JD is choosing his own staff seemingly.

new fitness coach

Postby PEAR CIDER » Fri Sep 20, 2019 12:57 pm

Mansfield Town are delighted to announce the appointment of Drewe Broughton as its new performance coach, who will work to enhance the physical and psychological preparation of the first team squad.

The former striker – who made over 500 appearances in his playing career - has recently built a portfolio of clients as a high-performance coach, which includes international players and Premier League stars.

Agreed.

Starting to look like he’s apportioned the blame on those that have been sacked and we’ve bought in to that.

Having John pictured shaking his hand indicates to me that JD is going nowhere.

Bizarre appointment to be re-building Dempster's backroom staff at this point. Starting to wonder who is pulling the strings at the One Call.

How does this make us a joke club? Because we're not sacking a manager YOU think should be?

I know. What an embarrassment, sacking the former coaches who weren't good enough and replacing them with a better pedigree. Joke.

He was a hard player and you didn't mess with him.

Are we sure, or is it a jest, that he is connected to the Broughtons already at the club?

You’re missing his point I feel. He may well be a better coach than those who have just gone, but this indicates Dempster is going to be afforded more time if he’s building his backroom staff again. Do you honestly believe that is the way forward? You might want and hope it to be, but you can’t genuinely believe continuing with Dempster at the helm is? What if a new gaffer comes in in a months time and wants his own staff?

Let’s also not forget Dempster had the chance to appoint his own staff in the summer too.

Drewe featured in the ITV show Harry's Heroes, where ex-England players tried to lose weight and played in a football game. IIRC, he met up with Paul Merson to discuss the problems they had both previously gone through, specifically issues with addiction.

The club are clearly making a statement to us all of releasing a photo in the present climate of JD shaking hands with him.

If it was someone else welcoming him to the club we'd all jump to the same conclusion that JD was out the picture so we can summise he has somehow survived.

Another own goal. Come on Mansfield stop tickling round the edges, do what really needs to be done.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

And there in one photo is another wasted season. Can only hope that we don't flirt with that one relegation spot.
One decision to be made, and they didn't have the guts to make it.

Drewe Broughton played at Rushden & Diamonds with John Dempster and Andy Burgess when they were relegated from League 2 to the National League in 2005-2006. He was a striker. He scored 10 goals that season.

Not necessarily.. if results don't improve they will get rid.

Theyre just doing everything to get his managerial career going.

Not wishing to admit to their own mistake you mean? JD has already shown hes not got what it takes. Maybe more time will help but if that's the case the owner needs to take the pressure off him and stop talking about promotion.

If this is true, what happens if we dont win in the next 2/3/4 games and relegation starts to look on the cards. They'll have to act then anyway, only then they'll look even more clueless than they do already.

Shambles.
