Matt Prestons Red Card

Postby Chrisuknottm » Wed Sep 18, 2019 7:15 pm

Just saw this on East Midlands news and again on YouTube.

Just absolutely awful and even worse than I thought at the time.

Look at Danny and Bish put their heads in their hands. Noticeable how no Stags players went to Preston to offer any kind of support to what was in defendable.

Thoroughly ashamed of him and really hope the young lad isn't badly hurt. Anyone seen any update?

I couldn't believe at the time that Preston was even remonstrating with the officials.

Having seen it back it's even worse, an absolute horror show of a tackle.

I couldn’t believe that either. It’s a long time since I’ve seen one as bad as that. Don’t know what the full outcome of the Cambridge players injury?

He hobbled off at full time on crutches with his foot all bandaged up. I did get a couple of pics but don’t know how to put them on here.

On first viewing I thought it looked worse than it actually was. After watching the replay it was an absolute shocker. He deserves what he gets!

Matt took the full force of lower west and Quarry Lane venting their anger at him. We were told he gave the Quarry the 'v' sign, someone else it was just thumbs up, anyone see owt????

The fans were rightly calling him out on an absolutely ridiculous decision and extremely dangerous piece of play. I don't know why he was waving, all the way to the tunnel he deserved everything he got.

I disagree, he seems a bit brainless when thought is required but when you think in the cold light of day he was desperately trying to keep the ball for the cause.
It shows me there's no lack of effort, just rash, poor decision making.

I think it was a genuine mistake, a bad one and unfortunately his second of the season. He needs to learn quickly.

He is just saying to the QLE that his action was just another small element of achieving what the fans want of getting Dempster Out.

It's the worst tackle I've seen since his last one.

The lad must be brain dead. After the worst two touches in the history of football, he then goes in two footed like that.

What's even more bizarre is that the ball was In the middle of the pitch, why didn't he just pull out of that tackle?!
