Port Vale scorefred sponsored by last chance saloon

Postby Foresttownstag » Wed Sep 18, 2019 1:26 pm

In here!

Personally I feel if we were going to sack JD, we would have done it by now. Radford seems to be a man of his word and did state 2 games, the 2nd of which is at Port Vale this Saturday.

Can only see more of the same with Radford making an announcement shortly after full time.

Watch us play port vale off the park and win 3-0, the Mansfield town way

On a serious note, confidence will be low after last night and it doesn't seem like the staff and JD can gee the lads up. Heart says win, head says loss.

Vale 2 Stags 1

If JD is gone before then we might get a point.

I can see us winning and everyone’s hopes up, with JR saying he has more games to survive as manager and us then going on another losing spell, which will put us in too bad of a position to rectify it this season. Needs to go on Saturday!

He should be gone now for the reasons you stated, not on Saturday.

Winning Saturday will literally mean nothing. It's blatantly obvious JD can't accomplish the objectives set for him. Like someone has mentioned elsewhere, he'll likely get Saturday and be sacked anyway when he manages another poor result... which is daft, delaying the inevitable. We'd then be another game into the season with less time to rectify the abysmal state we are in.

Not a game to look forward to as things stand. I think we need to get back to basics and look at players who should be solid but with the potential to be potent going forward.

Personally I would go with

Logan in goal,

A back four of Gordon Pearce, Shaughnessy and Benning.

Midfield of Stirling James, Mellis, Tomlinson and Hamilton

Rose up front with Khan playing off his shoulder.

I'd want the full backs getting forward and interchanging with the wingers when they get the chance. Keep the ball on the deck and get it wide as much as possible. Opposite wing men coming into the box when the ball is on the other side of the pitch and Mellis looking to shoot if the opposition clear it out of their box. Both Hamilton and Stirling James to stay up for opposition corners and long throws.

That should leave a reasonably strong bench including Bishop, Sweeney, Macca and possibly White ( if fit ) ofalayan and Cook. It gives plenty of potential to change formation as the game progresses.

Not looking forward to this at all.

Dempster knows the writing is on the wall.

Put the poor sod out his misery.

Not going. This is normally an away fixture that my group would go to. Vale must be rubbing their hands with anticipatory glee.

Bang on. Delaying this has no benefit whatsoever.

To add to that, I think we’ll have a much better chance of winning if he’s gone before Saturday. Feels like it would be a weight lifted from the players shoulders, but they’d also have to pull their finger out ready for an inbound manager.

I want us to win and it kick-start a great run of form that saves JD's job.

I keep faith that will happen until he isn't here anymore.

If he does go before Saturday, who do you think will be caretaker manager? I’m assuming not Glover as he’d go at the same time?

I think he will be sacked come Sunday morning.
