The downward spiral started on 9th February, losing a Newport 1-0, followed by losing at Notts Clownty 1-0

Prior to 9th Feb, Stags had lost only 3 out of 35 league games

Since 9th Feb, Stags have lost 16 out of 35 League games

:coys:

So basically we have overpaid prima dollar players, that are happy taking a big fat pay check for doing absolutely f/all,and not giving a shiiit about mtfc...

If we had just beaten Stevenage at home, or scored a goal/defended a corner properly at MK Dons we would have been promoted last season - fine lines.

The side that we’ve got IMO is performing worse than the one that was relegated under haslam. That side at least tried to play some half decent football than that mind-numbing tripe served up yesterday.

I’m astonished that this has been allowed to carry on as long as it has. It’s absolutely dire.

Held onto leads at Northampton, Cambridge, beat Clowny, the list is endless. IF a big word.

Current Table
PLD..W...D...L...PTS...PPG
26....6...9...11...27....1.04

Required for 51 Points
PLD..W...D....L...PTS...PPG
20....8...0...12....24...1.20
20....7....3..10....24...1.20
20....6....6...8....24....1.20
20....5....9...6....24....1.20
20....4...12...4....24...1.20
20....3...15...2....24...1.20
20....2...18...0....24...1.20

Stags current PPG of 1.04 over a season would see us finish with 48 points

So, improvement is required just to reach 51 points

We've got the worst home record in the division, PPG 0.77

On current form, the last 12 league games, we're 24th

What a write off and what a mess

If only we'd have kept Flitcroft. One more season wouldn't have hurt anyone

Very worrying statistics.

But some on here think we're immune from relegation, even when it's as plane as day we're in trouble.

Morecambe and Stevenage have 18 points from 25 games.

When will get it through to some people we don't need 51 points?

:hysteria: we'd be no better off though, these players stopped playing for him in February.

Flitcroft had to go, appointing Dempster was a huge mistake but it could have been worse. (Although we aren't safe yet).

Seriously though let's say Flitcroft had stayed......he then carried on with the disastrous form in place since February and 15 games in got the sack? We may then have appointed Dempster and had probably been down by April. Oh wait that thought hasn't crossed the Flitcroft in brigades mind.

Spot on :D

The rot started with Flitcroft in charge in February, we gained a paltry 18 points from Flitcroft's last 15 games, 1/3 of a season.

Thrown promotion away for 2 years running!

At home also, God knows how this pathetic bunch will fare when involved in bottom four 6 pointer away. I reckon it's gonna be tough even now.

There is no way we go down this season. If we continue our pathetic 1 point per game average, we'll end up on 47... The two in trouble (Stevenage / Morecambe) will need 48 points to better us (with goal difference), which is 1.42 points per game from sides that have so far only managed 0.72 points per game. I think the team that goes down might struggle to top 40 points the way this season is going.

19....5....9...5....24....1.26
19....4...12...3....24...1.26
19....3...15...1....24...1.26

Stags current PPG of 1.00 over a season would see us finish with 46 points
In 2007/08 we were relegated from the Football League with 42 points

We've got the worst home record in the division, PPG 0.71
Note, the season we were relegated from the Football League, 2007/08, our HOME PPG was 0.875.

Stags League 2 record since 9th Feb 2019

PLD..W...D....L....PTS...PPG
42...11..12..19....45...1.07

15...5....3....7.....18...1.20 Flitcroft
21...5....7....9.....22...1.05 Dempster
6.....1....2....3......5....0.83 Coughlan

With the stats listed above we need a thorough clear out and Graham Coughlan's spot on starting with the captain.

How did Stags fall in 2019 from being potential League 2 Champions, after 31 games last season Stags had 58 points, that's PPG 1.87 which maintained is 86 points after 46 games, Lincoln were Champions with 85 points, to now hopefully staying up partly due to one team going bust and 2 teams with currently a woeful points total.

Is history repeating itself?

Didn't holdsworth go a full calendar year with promotion form (or could have just been unbeaten at home for a year)? Then Duncan Russel came in for 6 months and then we appointed Cox, we all know what happened then. Its very similar.

Evans hit a purple patch before went closer to home in China, Flitcroft had an excellent start to the season, itd be enough for promotion I think (talking the entirity of 2018). Then Dempster was appointed for half a season (same as Duncan) and then Coughlan.

2019/20....42 goals in 27 games (GPG 1.55)

Make no mistake - the one relegation spot this season is between 3 clubs:- Stevenage, Morecambe & Mansfield.
We aren't out of the woods yet - It's time we started winning some games.

We will finish above both of them and also Carlisle and Oldham at least. We are rock bottom but will be better after a few weeks bed rest while we develop a backbone and a bit of character.

New players in the door next week will make all the difference. We won't be world beaters but we won't go down either.

We were unbeaten at home from December 29, 2008 until September 19, 2009, when a certain Darren Drysdale (who also helped MK Dons to beat us in 2007) ensured that the Stags were beaten at home to Stevenage. Incredibly enough, the EFL appointed the same Drysdale to our final home game, also against Stevenage, last season. That appointment was IMO a poor one.

Tbh, I think our poor run at the end of last season started a few weeks after that Hayden White was ruled out for the rest of last season following his injury at Colchester.
