The wind seemed strong throughout the first half - perhaps it did increase but certainly it affected our ability to get the ball upfield.
The first half was summarised by the News & Star as being frustrating, in that Stags players constantly simulated injury and won loads of free kicks. Although according to the BBC stats there were only 11 fouls recorded against us in the whole match.
"an infuriating half from a Cumbrian point of view with the home contingent exasperated by a host of Mansfield free-kicks that were awarded and slowed the game down". I seem to remember quite a few stoppages, but often only a throw-in was awarded.
I agree that second half we gave a fine demonstration of how to win a game when 2-0 up. Stay cool and organised, no risks or adventures, leave it to the other team to do the work.
