Mellis is a 1 in 10 player. Baggage. Need lads with fire in their belly, not players like Jacob Mellis.

Spot on

Not good enough last season when we missed out on promotion. With a budget such as ours (or so we think) he should not be anywhere near the club

Finished 4th last season with Jacob the focal point of the midfield, always available for a team mate to pass to and able to play the killer pass to put a striker through on goal. Currently lie 19th launching 50 yard balls to Danny Rose to flick on and then chase after it himself while Mellis is sat on thr bench probably as frustrated as the rest of us with the garbage he's watching.

Focal point? He was shocking after Christmas. Him & Mcdonald are not promotion chasing players. Last season was a fluke. A fluke, and we managed to blow it. People blame managers, but players do it on the pitch

This time next year I doubt Mellis will be a football league player

Mellis averaged 6.9 last season. If thats the focal point, no wonder we didnt go up.

Mellis reminds me a bit of Chris Clements. Fantastic when he's on his game, but sadly we just don't see it anywhere near enough. I guess that's why he's at this level.

I think we needed to rebuild the midfield pre season, but we never did. Maybe Donohue could've been the man to help us out but we'll never know will we?

They've not been suspended as the clubs investigation is still on going. Neither have been training. They are technically available but doubt Cocu will pick either of them, up to him really.

Probably not if he stays here with the Dempster relegation charge.

Must just be how we see the game. Always thought we look a far better footballing side when he's in it.

Mellis was a passenger in most games last season. Neil Bishop was the focal point and he was head and shoulders above his mates around him in midfield. When Bishop's legs ran out of steam so did our hopes of promotion unfortunately.

Jacob Mellis was one of our most important players last season for assists and involvement in goals. He's a level above Otis Khan in that department.

I suppose he prefers sitting on it, than being up in front of it .

The thi g with Mellis is, like any other league 2 midfielder, blows hot and cold. He does it in most games. 1 minutes he's splitting defences with inch perfect passes, the next minute he's cheaply surrendering possession. Anyone remember rsteve Evans saying he couldn't play 2 games in a row?

He does it in hardly any games and for a so called focal point/playmaker doesn't score enough goals either,he has ability granted but just doesn't seem bothered about showing it on anything like a regular basis. In a nutshell he can't be bothered,

Certainly doesn't look bothered to play for Dempster.

What the side needs is a team bonding evening, the sort of evening where the players put their differences aside have a relaxing meal a few drinks and come together as one. I have heard that Derby County swear by it.

Oh wait, just seen the papers, slight flaw in my plan......

That was Conrad Logan's fault.
