doesn't mean much for Davies because a number 10 is usually an attacking midfielder or someone who plays just behind the two up top

I still think we need another centre half and another experienced/quality centre midfield player as back up for Bish in case he gets injured. I don't think I would be confident of promotion with a centre mid made up from Mellis/Macca/Baby Bish/Donohue/Young Alistair.
I prefer Jacob Mellis when he plays in the attacking midfield role and has more freedom. His strength is his passing and so we need to get him on the ball as much as possible. He is not as good when he has to put in the hard defensive work.
Mansfield now favourites to sign Zach Clough from Florest on loan for the season. Oldham wanted him but couldn't pay as much of his wages as Mansfield can.
