didn't go or watch but sounds like we didn't do too bad, individual errors are a bit annoying and need sorting out but we can't be too disheartened at a 2-2 draw with a championship club

The two mistakes cost us. Overall we were ok but do seem a bit over reliant on long balls to Cook - made more frustrating by Logans kicking which was poor today.

I dont feel the team is as sharp or organised as it was this time last year. We seem to be caught between wanting to play and going more direct. Some encouraging signed too though.

I like our new throw in routine where the two players go different ways. Much better than aimless balls down the line.

We need to cut out the errors...

I don't understand trying to play from the back with Sweeney and Preston, with no Mellis in midfield they just kept going back to Logan to what he could've done 10 seconds earlier, less accurately. With Cook on the pitch you have to utilise him.

Cook seems far from fit to me. Some good signs, especially in midfield and defence, from the younger lads. Khan by far the best up front, so far.

Cook will look like that all season :D

He will cause defenders all sorts of trouble, won a lot of headers against some top Championship defenders

It would work if Conrad didn't take an age to get the game flowing again. Far to many times he let opportunities to get the game going pass him by and it faded into him just lumping it up field. When he did finally do it a sarcastic cheer went up.

Either way two defence errors and two well taken goals. Definitely need Khan on free kicks this season.

Past few seasons we've struggled with set pieces. Good to see we actually look a danger with them now.

So who doesn’t play so Khan can start?

Logan is so frustrating.Good shot stopper but too slow in releasing the ball.

I think khan will be a valuable player this season, we've seen what he's capable of early last season and will be a good provider of assists and goals. he does blow hot and cold but most do down here

Clarke who replaced White on the right in the second half looked a real find. He was competitive against a first team 11 from Hull. Khan never stopped running all game. His free kicks so far have hit bar and post and produced two very good goalkeeping saves. The throw ins are better, you'll see when you go, the young midfielder Alistair Smith is ready and a cracking prospect. Still things to work on but we are were we need to be.

Yes, possibly my account has a problem. Didn't miss kickoff anyway.

I checked this evening and it worked fine as long as I used Firefox. Chrome doesn't allow a login as the script seems to redirect to a website with an invalid name. I'll have to try again when I get chance.
Great pre-season workout though, so I'm glad that I went to the match.

Can remember people mocking Liverpool employing a throw in coach last season. It worked a couple of times for them, and England too (think it was Gomez’ long throws). It’s not a different way to try and find an advantage. Don’t mind that at all.

Yesterday was a good test for us, few things I would point out from it:

The 4 4 1 1 formation didn't seem to work st all, we were so much better when CJ was up top. Otis Khan has started pre season brilliantly and it reminded me of his form early last season, we need to build our team around him.

Interesting that he didn't try cook and Maynard toghether, anyonenelse feel he likes rose and Maynard together more and it will be one or the other out of new strikers?

Also if we are to play 4 in midfield then we need a right midfielder, realistically osj isn't good enough, smith wasn't great either, very lightweight.

When you buy 2 quality strikers, you don't buy A partnership between them. That may take time.

JD will see what develops in training and you may fine that an unexpected partnership forms. It may bring out the best of one of existing players and therefore sidelines one of the big signings.

Given what cook and Maynard will have cost, JD will be giving them every opportunity to make the partnership come opening day, but for now he's looking at combinations so he knows how to switch it up when the season starts.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.
