Not just the fans divided on the decision. :)

This reads to me as if John wanted Flitcroft to stay. Isn’t it a bit worrying that the CEO is overruling the owner and chairman if that’s the case?

Was it Carolyn who wanted him sacked or John ?
Nice to know the ambition is still alive.

You can’t tell from the article but the rumours I heard was that it was a board decision so they could have given Carolyn the instruction.
It’s a shame it had to happen (was wishing DF success) but at least it appears the decision was motivated by ambition.

No. Was told about it by a Kent fan and was surprised that no-one else had posted it on social media. Clearly a low Mirror readership amongst Stags fans!

I don’t know anybody my age or younger who reads newspapers. I don’t know how they’re still going.

You can read most of them on line. AND they're not all as painful as the Chad and Post to navigate.

Why? The CEO runs the company, and that’s their role.

However, if it’s a decision at board level then it’s the CEO that actions it (even though our CEO will sit on the board)

Wonder how much Steve Hymas had to do with it seeing as DF didn't wanna use the new Woburn road site because the pitches weren't ready? And Df wasn't playing our 'wonderkids' yet most of have been released by the bloke who worked with them for years

All this speculation over a few lines in a paper.

Anyway my speculation is they mutually agreed but it was a tough decision, but more neutral and respectable that, better than using it to take a pro/anti DF side like some others ;)

At least the article is not all about the Radfords’ lifestyle and the extension that they’ve had built to accommodate Carolyn’s vast handbag collection!

The could've both agreed with the decision but were arguing over who was going to tell DF he was sacked. It would've been CR's job as CEO but she might've said to JR "you do it I'm not", we don't know.

My take on it after reading the article again, is that Carolyn was devasted that DF failed to gain the single point needed in the final few games to gain promotion. She decided that a change was needed. JR probably was more inclined to keep faith with DF as he had got so close. This disagreement caused the "right old rumpus at home".

I hope this season doesn't end in further disappointment, as it makes me wonder how much more heartache the Radfords are willing to accept.

In terms of MTFC Edders. They've put a lot of money, time and effort to move the club forward, but we are still stuck in league 2. I'm sure they are gutted we have failed to gain promotion especially in the last two seasons. If we continue to be marooned in league 2 I think they will question whether the heartache and frustration is worth it.

I don’t think the Radfords will jack it all in any time soon, they’ll just vary the levels of investment they make available each year.

I'm guessing that the rumpus was because Carolyn was prepared to give DF another chance as she comes from the same area as DF near Chorley/Preston and seems to know DF's sister, Paula, but JR decided that DF had to go because of the failure to win promotion after massive backing from JR.

None of us will really ever know what went on but we all felt just as strongly as the Radford's that if u could not get 1 point from a game and not even have the pressure to win to go up that somebody's head would have to roll and of course you cant sack 11 eleven players!!.
Failure again this time might be a One Call too far for them and they may decide enough is enough!!

No pressure then JD hope u up for the rollercoaster!!

If JR wanted Flitcroft to stay that badly, it would've happened.

Perhaps if Boris's neighbours had lived next door to the Radfords we could have listened to the recording to find who said what
