The Last Leg: Sean Lock

Anyone watch The Last Leg?

Comedian Sean Lock in last week's episode when asked whether he's been watching the Women's World Cup made reference to "erm, no, for the same reason I don't watch Rotherham versus erm Mansfield"

The wimmin's World Cup has been way better football than we've seen at Stags in 2019 so far.

Some of them gels can hit a 50 yard diagonal and fine a team mate. Heady stuff.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

And on the other hand, some of them are so small and weak they can't kick the ball 10 yards to pass or clear it.
Enjoying it though, refreshing to see very little diving and no back chat all!!!

I did watch it and was tempted to add something on here so glad someone did.
To be honest I found his comment funny and raised a couple of good points for the club.
1. National context. We’re still little old Mansfield and only those committed and local floating fans will care about a game our matches. This is where we need to build our fan base (I’m sure there’s a point about our youth ticket policy here somewhere!)
2. That said we have a big enough profile for him to make a joke. Hopefully our social media team can get back to him with something funny and use it positively, maybe mention we also have a comedy club!

Sean Lock makes a funny joke shocker which it truly is. I'd rather watch the womens world cup AND Monkey Tennis than one of his performances anyday. Bit like ost comics nowadays. They are all right up their own and others arses and aren't happy unless they are hogging panel shows.

Sean's a funny fella. His stand up isn't great, been to see him a few times, but he is very funny on 8 out of 10 cats.
