I agree our style of play since Exeter has changed, we got in behind at ease against them and because of this we have tried it against Cambridge and Northampton-The problem is it will only work against teams that have a go at us and not sit back.

We need to get back to playing some football and this starts with dropping Macca and getting Mellis/Grant in the team.

Bang on. But not both.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Grant's creativity is missing and Macca displays energy but not incisive enough in the final third.

would be tempted to have Mellis and Grant back in at some stage.

Start Mellis away and grant at home. Bring Macca on late on if we are ahead or Mellis/Grant if we are behind or drawing.

Keith Curle - Cobblers made high-flying Mansfield ‘look average’

I heard that interview on the way home, I thought, no DF made us look average with his god damn awful tactics

Listened to Stevo on Radio Woodhouse Rd on Sat and he said it was the worst game of 'football' he's seen in many, many years.
It sounded an absolute clogfest of the worst kind and he was agog that their players were applauded off at FT having served up such absolute dross.
Frustrating was the fact we seemed powerless to actually put a combination of two passes together or be able to retain possession for more than 5 seconds at a time. As I've said previously it gives me little confidence for Oldham away (got my ticket today) or the Stevenage home game.

We've had a fair few games this season where we've looked average and we fail to raise our game in any way at all.

It was absolute dross mate. Northampton were poor but we made them look good. CJ & Walker lightweight and no midfield. Pleased it was on 25 min drive back.
