If you lose the midfield battle, the wingbacks can't get forward.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

I was wondering whether the Matt Salmon Trophy got presented to Clownty after the game, not heard anything. It should be highlighted to remember the guy at least. Apologies if it was mentioned. Florist and Derby are playing for the Brian Clough Trophy tonight and t'Beeb keep banging on about it.

Let’s hope that Hardy hasn’t pawned it.

I think the trophy is played for at the first meeting of the season only, so we are still the holders of it. :)

By the look of the table now it looks as though it could be gathering dust in our Trophy Cabinet for a while along with the County Cup and .... erm as we may not play them again for a few years :D

Dean Owen made a racist comment about a Notts County player and called him "a cheat".

The 47-year-old, of Fell Wilson Grove, Warsop, angered fellow Mansfield Town supporters and apologised to them immediately, city magistrates heard.

He was among a crowd of 12,660 for the visit of the Stags to Meadow Lane on February 16.

Police applied for a order to ban him from games for at least three years, but this was rejected by the three JPs, who felt it would be excessive.

But the magistrate said he could still be banned by Mansfield Town. Owen said the club has already barred him from attending the One Call Stadium for the rest of this season.

He admitted using threatening words, which were racially aggravated, and must pay £85 prosecution costs with £42 tax.
